Love that there is beach access. Glad we brought chairs an umbrella and beach towels. Beach was always pretty empty which was nice. Close to a bunch of restaurants as well.

Great aside from dirty tub!

We’ve been staying at Shutters for several years with no issue. But this trip was not as great. As always, our beds were super comfortable, pools, hot tub & easy access to the beach were excellent as well. But our bathroom tub was disgusting & the shower curtain was covered in mold at the bottom. The front desk ladies did try to assist but housekeeping was gone for the day. We asked for cleaning spray but none ever arrived at our room. My wife cleaned the tub/shower with hot soapy water & we wore flip flops when we showered. Aside from that, it was a comfortable stay. We will be back as I am hoping this was a one off bad experience with an otherwise great hotel.

DIRTY SMELLY DO NOT STAY HERE!

We booked one night after seeing the reviews and upon check in, we went to the room finding it nothing like the pictures. The room was smelly like mold and dirty! We were offered a second room which we found in the same condition! We went to the front desk and told them we would not accept either room and were told we would recieve a refund the next day! Lies. We were charged and were told they have a no refund policy even when we did not even stay there!!!! We also called Hotels.com and explained the above and they would not issue a refund!

Shutters had everything we would want at a reasonable price. Great access to the beach, nice space in the room, the AC worked well, the bed was comfortable, plenty of parking. Things we would have liked in a room, but it fell short on - The bathroom sink area was very small, and right at the entrance of the room, The plantation shutters looked nice but the room was filled with light as soon as the sun came up.

Check in was simple but felt that greeting could’ve been a bit more warm and welcoming. The room was as stated yet not very high functioning for a family at the beach. No place to hang towels suits ( maybe get plastic hooks at dollar store?! ) upon return from the pool/beach or even regular shower laundry. The bathroom lacked a bath and only had a glass partial partition which when traveling with family everyone knows the toilet needs to be accessible even if someone is in the shower or someone needs to sneak in…. So no privacy or convenience that way. The proximity to beach is nice with a beautiful view from balcony yet the short hike is uphill then downhill to access the beach. The beach chair service was lovely and accommodating, two thumbs up there. The breakfast was above expectation with options and hot food service variety each day. The beds were comfortable, maid service great very clean and willing to assist. Pools / jacuzzi were nice but not as viewed in photos yet served the purpose and met the need. We felt our family enjoyed our short stay but there were definitely things which we might want to do differently so not sure we would book again and certainly not for a longer stay.

Room was comfortable, lovely, clean with a wonderful view but it had a strong musty smell like a damp basement. Staff were polite and provided really good service, they just looked/acted as if they were miserable. Great beach access. Nice grounds. Breakfast was good, well tended. Overall, a really good experience, just cannot say great. Convenient location, made it easy to visit other neighboring areas with ease by car.

The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom and sofa and chair are very outdated. There is no freezer in the mini fridge. Had to make continuous trips to the one ice machine to keep cooler cold. Have a decent breakfast bar but crowded. Okay for a few days stay but priced a little overboard.

Good, not great. A little too pricey for not a lot of extra. Very noisy and could've used a little bit more upkeep. Front door had a huge gap that let light in all night. Ocean view rooms on the 3rd floor cannot see over the dunes - the water is visible, but the beach is not - 4th floor is presumably better. Breakfast was decent, but again, nothing special. Would've liked to have seen a little more upscale offerings for the price.

Wonderful family vacation

Wonderful time, we will stay here again, private access to beach/ocean about 50 yrs, nice indoor pool use at night. Close drive to eateries, morning breakfast as would expect, but needs have ice dispenser, stayed in tower overlooking ocean, FABULOUS beds comfortable sleeping, spacious shower in room, helpful house cleaning staff, always received daily clean towels. 1/2 mile walk to Wright Bro Nat. Memorial. Plenty of parking, small foot shower to get excess sand off feet when leaving ocean.
