Montecito Sequoia Lodge is a solid 4-star experience, but it’s important to set expectations—this isn’t a luxury hotel. What it does offer is excellent value for its location inside Sequoia National Park, about 40 minutes from the park’s main attractions. The lodge provides unique perks such as complimentary access to a private lake with canoes and paddleboards. Breakfast is very good, and dinner is solid as well. Overall, it’s a great deal for those who prioritize location, activities, and value over high-end amenities.

We had lovely time at this lodge, the staff is very friendly especially Mr Knucles who works on various outdoor activities. My kids had a great time here, would definitely like to come back. Hope the approach road becomes better.

Breakfast ok, dinner terrible. You need to drive a 3 mile dirt road to get there, room not very clean. Sheets and blanket and pillow cover not washed, with stains. Structures very old. Not recommending.

This lodge is good for those who want to go to the Sequoia NP and Kings Canyon NP and who doesn’t want to camp. Still the facility is old and we hear many sounds from the nearby rooms. We do not have other options but the food is not good and the menu is limited. Don’t expect to get a service worthy of the price.

Great Vibes

Overall a great experience and I will definitely come back. Not so much for the lodging but the overall experience and amenities provided. I have two young children and the lodge was a great experience for them as well as my family. There were a lot of fun things for them to do around the facility and they are very thoughtful in the layout creating options for children of all ages to enjoy. Arts and crafts, lake, paddle boarding, canoeing, tennis, archery, pellet guns, you name it! The facilities were dated but that didn't matter as much to me as we did not spend that much time inside. They breakfast and options they had were great and it felt very much family oriented and friendly place.

Cozy community

I booked the lodge thinking it's 15-min away from the national parks but unfortunately for us, the main road was blocked and detour (very bumpy, thanks to our 4-wheel to get us through) took about 30-min. We're happy with the cozy place with very reasonable price and full of services. We really appreciated the snack and tea/coffee bar opened freely all the time. Buffet was legitimate. Next time we will probably prepare swimsuits to enjoy jacuzzi and the pool, as well as kayaking and the lake nearby. It's very community-oriented with public activities, everyone can find something to do during their stay.

This property is overpriced and in need of major upgrades. They are understaffed. In addition the main entrance road is closed and requires taking a mostly gravel and pot hole filled road in the back way. Would not recommend this place.

Location in the park of property is misleading...3 mile Detour of rough class4 road because they havent fixed there bridge in over 2 years. Rooms in the Red Fir building are a total disaster totally out dated and very very dirty..and our sheets were full of fresh stains and hair .They have a very serious mouse infestation..we heard them all nite scratching and running about. Slept with clothes on. With all due respect the food was good..but hit or miss on certain days. The staff was good. Would definitely not go again or recommend for the 400$+ a nite. EXPEDIA SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROPERTY LISTED.!!

A unique experience in sequoia park. So much offered… quaint pond for fishing and canoeing, archery, s’mores and evening campfire, pool n hot tub, excellent selection of board games and buffet meals !!!! AND very close to Grant tree… all that and very friendly staff . True… the lodge and the rooms are dated.. but they point this out on their website and there are pictures of the rooms . But what the place lacks in fancy upgraded rooms it WELL makes up for in character and activities. They do have a few very new cabins as well is you’re not into the vintage feel
