They said they are in the process of remodeling since Hilton acquired the property. The first building we were in put had roaches and the garbage can under the sink was full from the previous guest. Stains on carpet and couch. The door into unit looked as if it had been busted down as door jamb was very cracked and door hard to close. The weather stripping was missing off the bottom of the door which left about a two-three inch gap. I called them the next morning concerning the roaches and they offered a technician to come and spray as it was safe for humans. I refused asked if another room was available or we would like to be refunded. They moved us to another room, stains on carpet was worse but at least no bugs. I wasn’t comfortable in the room, so we spent the entire day away from resort. When you pull into the property you think that you are going to experience first class amenities, however, it is not the case. We will not be back.

Buyer beware!!!
We stayed one night with our 2 adult boys. Today we received a voicemail that accused us of multiple bites in the wooden mini blinds. We have called twice to talk with Pricilla who is not available. We had no pets or children. This is fraudulent as well as insulting and we are extremely upset about this accusation against us. We have traveled for 30+ years and have never had any problems with our stay in various places. We would never recommend this place to anyone.

The property was private and quiet for the most part. Didn’t feel too touristy. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and had a “home away from home” feeling. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the very quick backroad beach access and visitor designated parking. Definitely would visit again.

The property and our unit were as expected and was clean. Our unit shared a common area (hallway) with another unit that had some noisy children but they were not that way all the time. We really liked the location, the gate security and the size and amenities of the unit. Even though some of the extras and attractions here were closed down and or being worked on, we still really enjoyed our stay and will more than likey stay here again if we return to Kitty Hawk in the future.

Overall condition of where we stayed was great, arcade outdoor pool with kiddie pool and private beach parking lot, only negative there is nowhere to wash off the sand from the beach until you get back to the hotel (plenty of sand in the car from this). We stayed in the 3 bedroom option, which is split into two rooms that have a door to access both sides, each side gets a kitchen, the A unit being the one of the bigger beds with a bathroom and b unit is the bigger bed with master bathroom downstairs and two twin beds upstairs up a somewhat steep staircase with the additional bathroom being near the kitchen, all appeared to be recently renovated minus the stairs and screened in porch on the back of the unit. There also was washer and dryer on site but outside of the units in the area where you walk in to access both units. There are mentions of bugs in other reviews, during our stay there were none in the unit but there were some outside but it is a wooded area so that is to be expected. Only big disappointment of the whole stay was that the indoor pool and lazy river that we were looking forward to were both closed during our stay which was not communicated that would be the case on booking and was not communicated until around a month before our stay and didn't get a discount on resort use fees for not having access to this. Was really disappointed by that. Other than that, a good option if you want a more resort type feel and dont mind driving to the beach.
