Fiji Hideaway Resort and Spa offers 115 accommodations with safes and hair dryers. Refrigerators and coffee/tea makers are provided. Family holiday with grandchildren in an adjoining beachfront villa. Loved our spacious and quiet villa and the water views. The staff were warm and welcoming. Reef shoes a must for when the tide goes out. The children’s activities were very light on and I think older children would be looking for more. Lovely pool area and trivia during happy hour was fun. Resort needs to emphasis the dangerous swimming are at the reef opening. Lacking in emergency equipment and training. Did the school tour and village tour. Affordable at $10 each and we were happy to leave a donation at the school and village.

Bula! Thank you to everyone at the Fiji hideaway resort and spa. This was the first time my family and I had visited and we had an absolutely delightful time. The staff were fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and consistently smiling and willing to help out. The food, especially the tandoori chicken, was such a highlight. In terms of the room, the room was lovely. We had the family room which managed to sleep my mom, dad, my 9 year old niece and myself. The only room for improvement was the bathroom. Nothing major but just in need of a little TLC. I would hugely suggest taking the local bus right outside the resort to the capital city of Suva. It costs only FD $10 per person. Already have a heavy heart typing this on our plane trip back to Auckland. Thoroughly enjoyed Fiji’s south west and south east coast. Highly recommended. Vinaka.

The staff were incredible. If there had been a beach with swimming areas I would give this a 5 star. When the tide is out there is hardly any water. When the tide is in the water is very shallow.

I was very unimpressed with my stay at the hideaway, and the place was flooded with screaming children, by day they were running around the pool and by night they were playing with the only pool table and running around the dinning room. We were so uncomfortable we asked to get room service and they tried to charge us for the delivery… The food also made us sick.

Great spot with a pool and swimmable ocean (reef shoes are best and provided). There 5 days with a family of 8 (all adults) and between day excursions and the couple restaurants and pool and other activities we kept ourselves occupied and really enjoyed the place. Accom is a bit dated but not anything I’m not used to, still clean and tidy, mostly only noted in the bathroom but not an issue, and a great outdoor private shower with open roof

The bottom of the bed and bed skirt was dirty-very obvious. Phone cord was broken didnt work, Door got locked from inside, couldnt open, had to use my data to call front desk to open our door. Food options were not so great. Staff were very friendly till we let them know the issues, then they wouldnt even make eye contact let alone say hello

Bad service, bad food. Not worth the money
We stayed for 6 days and every day the breakfast service was terrible. The buffet was not replenished and items were missing (water, coffee, pastries, bread, fruit) as you can see from the photos taken around 8am (mid service). When I asked for water I was told they only provide one large bottle and it was all gone. I insisted I wanted water and was told to wait there. Took 10 minutes to come. Eggs orders took 10-25 minutes to arrive. All floor staff bar one were rude. No eye contact, no greeting, no smiles. We felt they resented us for being there. Quality of food at restaurant was below average (example: catch of the day was frozen fish). Waited at the bar for a bottle of beer for 25 minutes (only 3 people ahead of me). Only friendly floor staff member is Varinosece. WIFI available only at lobby, pool and restaurant, not in rooms. On Sunday the system was down at the restaurant and pool. IT guy was on his day off, so this was only fixed on Monday. Lobby staff were very friendly, especially Tiger. House keeping staff were very friendly, however mid stay they ran out of towels and took a few hours to get new towels. The state of the place is run down and tired. In need of renovation. We spoke to a few other guests and they felt the same. We ended up walking 40 minutes to the supermarket and bought food to avoid eating at the restaurant. We are not sure the staff work conditions, but they are clearly very unhappy. Very disappointing. We will not come back.

We loved our stay! Rooms are a little tired but have everything you need with comfortable beds, we stayed in the beachfront villa. A place to relax and unwind and the staff are just amazing. Just remember this is not a 5 star hotel and you’re in Fiji ‘no hurry,no worry’.

The staff, the staff at the hideaway make your holiday. Shout out to Money, Francis, Tash and Volley, get in early and interact with them, and by day 2 all the staff will know you by name, have a table set at all meals for you and know your favourite drink. High tide is you friend in the ocean so plan you day around high tide, snorkelling is amazing down the beach and out a little ( just don't swim in the channel) our time was Made by the poeple who treated us like family. Many thanks from "Mr David" and the family.

Not worth of the lower price
The property is run down resort, with nice setting in tropicsl greeneey on the positive side. However there is lot of garbage (pet bottles in the greenery), cigarette butts in front of the bures, stray dogs and cats, the swimming pool with murky water. Breakfast choice limited (no bananas, no vegetables). Security is also an issue (one day I returned to the room to find my in-room safe was open). It is questionable if it is worth the distance from the Nadi airport (1,5 hrs), especially when the sea here is not swimmable - there is huge tide difference btw low and high. During low tide you have to walk a kilometer to get to the sea. Bures are spacious and equipped with AC/fan/kettle and fridge. However, it is not even worth the low price (comparable to upscale resorts closer to the Nadi airport). I would not choose this resort again. I booked for three nights and had to find other place to feel more relaxed and safe.
