The location and the hotel size was great. We booked a room with view of Victoria Harbour which was beautiful. However, I took off a star due to 2 reasons. 1. The Lounge was very average, and I wouldnt recommend to go 2. The hotel smelt slighly musty if the aircon wasnt on. The hotel has a lot of carpet, and I wonder if due to the humidity this is leading to the carpet smelling slighly musty.

Overall, the hotel is well maintained and comfortable. We stayed in this hotel several times and rated it 5 stars a couple of times. This time was a bit surprise, we asked the concierge to get us a taxi to the airport as it was early in the morning. I was shocked to hear from the staff in black suit saying ‘sorry we don’t provide this kind of service, you have to get a taxi on the street’ without hesitation. Imagine, I’m over 75 and he didn’t even bother to call a taxi on our behalf. This was disappointing and the management should revise the policy on this kind of request. Extremely disappointing.

Me and wife had stayed in this hotel numerous time over the past few years and was pleased with the service with the exception of this time, a couple of issues caused my overall rating down from 5 to 4. We were a party of 5 and I'd booked 3 rooms, my family of 4 for 2 rooms and 1 room for a good friend of mine staying by herself, for Sep 9 - Sep 11 and Sep 26 - Sep 29. The first time the check-ins were very pleasant and they both got upgraded to a suite, which was very nice. The second time check-in on Sep 26, because we arrived separately, my friend checked-in first before our arrival. She was told there was no reservation for her, who was successfully checked-in on Sep 9. She called me and asked for the booking invoice. I sent her the copy via wechat which she showed thagt to the lady at the check-in counter. My friend was told that the invoice did not have her name on it, which the staff had clearly missed that on the invoice. After the issue was cleared, the staff then said the name on the reservation did not match the name on the passport, happened to be the middle name was missing and said she couldn't check my friend in. I was surprised that the staff was making a fuss and had to explain over the phone that when I booked for the hotel, I was only asked to provide first name and last name, as well as I didn't have the problem when I checked-in on Sep 9. She was checked-in after almost 30 mins delay. That clearly demonstrated the incompetence of the check-in staff.

I could hear the Tv from the other room constantly, strange as all channels looked like as if the tv was using an old bunny ears antenna. The mini-fridge didn’t work and the gym equipment is old. A heads up that the pool was closed (damaged by the typhoon last week) would have been nice before arriving.

We stayed at this hotel from 9/9/25 to 22/9/25 and the only thing we can advise is do not stay at this hotel if you come from a western country. The staff treat the people from the UK totally different to the Chinese in the level of service they provide. We booked a Deluxe Harbour View room but upgraded to one with Club access and we were glad that we did. The room had a great view of Victoria Harbour but the hotel did not comply with our request of a high floor. The room was on the 12th floor but most club rooms were between the 18th and 20th floors. The reason we upgraded to one with club access was that breakfast was included in the price. Although it was somewhat limited in the choice you had, and was mostly warm at best, it did save us quite a lot of money. However, the club room staff were annoying because they watched your every move, and as soon as one of you finished eating they would come and take the plate away. Despite this we were glad we did have the club access because all meals at the hotel were extremely expensive for what they provided. With regards the 5 star rating this hotel is given at best we would rate it a 3 star playing at 5 stars. Concerning the location it is to far out of the main attractions although the MTR is close. Therefore our advice is do not stay at this hotel and stay at one of branded hotels like the Hyatt if you are from the UK or English speaking country.

Good hotel with amenities close to subway

The ocean view room is very pleasant. Has all the amenities one would expect from a 5 star hotel. The breakfast staff in the 19Fl are very friendly and courteous. The egg station lady made an effort to introduce their homemade cereal which was indeed delicious! Two items that surprised me were: 1) they don’t have an adapter for the wall plug. Other 5 star hotels always provide an adapter for the duration of the stay 2) the concierge does not accept luggage for more than 24 hrs after checkout.
