I have stayed at Matahari on 2 prior occasions - this time I upgraded to a Deluxe Queen Pool Room. I was put on Level 2 instead of the ground floor - couldn't even see the pool let alone be a "Pool Side Room" the Bed was absolutely terrible - I didn't sleep properly for the who 7 nights - 2 single beds tied together to make a queen size bed only to have a 25cm gap between mattresses... no amount of "fixing" made this better. No power points to plug your phone in to charge in the room - charging had to be done at the front door near the kettle. The shower was broken as was the bath. Really disappointed considering the substantial cost increase from a standard room that I would normally use to a Deluxe suite.

Great old style accommodation right in the centre of Kuta, beautiful old fruit trees, more and more renovated but slightly run down what gives it extra flair of old style Bali! Friendly staff, great breakfast and pool bar!

An older traditional Balinese style accomodation. Very friendly family accomodation. Delicious freshly cooked breakfasts and accomodating staff. It was surprisingly quiet considering its position on Legian street, close by to night clubs etc. The water pressure was very low and hot water took ages to come through. this is our only feedback to the venue.

Matahari was a hidden gem amongst the hustle and bustle, beautiful lush eatabliabed gardens. We felt private in our room with balcony and the room itself was spacious, comfortable, modern and felt like home away from home for our stay there. Enjoyes hearing street music when sitting on our balcony but quiet when sleeping. Excellent staff and fabulous pool area.

Very old run down room that need a complete renovation. I wouldn't recommend staying here. The grounds were very nice but room was dirty and falling apart. Plus after parking my bike in the wrong spot the security guard said 'f#%k you' after i questioned him. Wasn't happy with the managers response either who almost justified it with no apology. Not at all worth the money. DO NOT STAY HERE!

A great traditional style hotel with amazing staff. Rooms very clean and large. Nice restaurant with a great breakfast. Swim up bar in a large pool with beautiful well maintained large gardens. Walking distance to great restaurants, bars, markets etc. Tucked in behind Ice Ice Bali on JL Legian, this place is a hidden gem.
