We stayed at Tingle Creek due to its location to the Isle of Skye. We didn’t check our hotel reservations as closely as we should have, and had some tense moments when we realized that we would not arrive before the desk closed at 9:00pm. After several failed attempts to contact the hotel, we resigned ourselves to the fact we would likely have to try to find different accommodation (we had just hiked the Old Man of Storr, were drenched right thru and it was becoming obvious that there were not just hotels on every corner, and we had already paid, so we were panicking a little), but we drove to Tingle Creek anyway, and were met by an absolute sweetheart of a man, who knew who I was immediately, and assured me that even if we hadn’t arrived until 11:00, he would’ve left our key with instructions for us! We checked into our cozy room, with an amazing sunset view of the water, but there was little time to enjoy, as we had not yet had supper, as the ‘Old Man’ had taken longer than expected. We set out to find food and it was apparent right away that food options around Kyle are very limited after 8:00pm. We settled on gas station cuisine to get by until morning. If you are a North American traveller, don’t wait to check in or eat supper when visiting these parts of Scotland if you want a warm bed and a hot meal. We awoke to the stunning view from our hotel window, and a delicious breakfast. Would definitely stay here again! Be sure to read ALL the information before reserving.

Delightful stay with stunning views

This was an absolutely delightful hotel with stunning views. We used this as our home base as we were touring the Isle of Skye. I appreciated the communication and restaurant recommendations in advance. The breakfast was lovely and there were several areas to sit and lounge. The only improvement would be to add blackout curtains in the rooms.

No room amenities like a phone, fridge. No grab bars in the shower which is dangerous. I did not feel safe climbing into the tub,as a result did not shower for 2 days. Not happy. The lounge is large and well appointed same with the breakfast room. The proprietors are no and can provide details of the surrounding area. I paid a lot of money for this accommodation and expected more.

Nice place family run. Not a lot in area. A lot of restaurants closed and a lot of empty businesses. Some restaurants close before 6 pm.

Property needs updating & facilities are limited. Only offered a very late checkin which can be inconvenient. We met the owner at breakfast. Was vey friendly unlike the check in staff member

Quaint gem

Just exactly what we needed as a landing spot near Skye! Service was wonderful and the breakfast was great with a beautiful view from our table. It’s not a large place, but I especially liked that about the property. If you’re looking for a place away from corporate hotels this is it!

The Tingle Creek Hotel was a B and B . The hotel had plenty of room for parking and lots of communal areas where you sit and enjoy the view or the silence . They provided a list on eateries with contact details before we arrived which allowed us to select a suitable restaurant. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and the staff were very helpful about places to visit. Good place to stay.

Tingle Creek on night stay

Room was clean with comfy bed. They do not provide meals except for hot/cold buffet which was excellent. The hotel is nowhere near any eating establishments so means having to drive to nearest town.

Such a lovely hotel. They don’t do evening meals anymore but instead they give you a list of all the eateries and takeouts in the area and allow you to fetch them back to eat in comfort. Next time I am in this area this is were I will be staying.

Lacked ambience

A perfectly good place to stay, clean, comfortable and reasonable buffet breakfast. My problem was the cost for the facilities available. £170 per night for what is essentially a bed and breakfast place. Lovely gardens to sit in but no bar to get a drink to enjoy sitting out or to sit in the nice lounge in the evenings. It was quite soulless with no ambience or atmosphere to be honest which was a shame. No restaurant either but to be fair i knew that when booking, it just meant that there was no central place to see other people everyone disappeared. Not even a bottle of water in the room for that price and 1 packet of biscuits. I got the impression it was get the money in for as little effort as possible.
