We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and we enjoyed it a lot. The location was great for dinning, shopping, easy to get in/out. The room was super clean and big for our family of 4. Very quiet. We had amazing breakfast buffet every morning! It made our day start happily. Stuff was professional and friendly. Free coffee at lobby was also nice. Definitely recommend to friends and family. The room is quite spacious, love the upgraded bathroom and shower. The mattress was big and comfortable, and the location is perfect, only 5 mins walk to a train station.

Loved this place. Very welcoming atmosphere and staff. It's located on a cute street with some dining options - the onigiri was Incredible. Back to the hotel! Very cozy and the neighborhood was walkable - big shipping Street on one side and a creek with bars and dining on the other. Would highly recommend this place hotel.

We stayed in 6 hotels during our 3 weeks in Japan and this was by far the best - the room was spacious and well equipped with amazing views across Kyoto. We loved the large bath tub and shower room. The lobby was clean and peaceful. Overall a great hotel in a wonderful location to explore Kyoto!

The hotel is new and impeccably designed. Corner room very spacious, has table and chairs, actually able to sit and eat. Bathroom area is beautiful, large (double sinks), and clean. The tub is long and great for soaking. Views are lovely and we overlook a small terrace garden on the second floor. The bathrobes were a great touch. The number of sliding doors between all the areas were great at reducing noise between the bathrooms and beds. Wished we stayed longer. Also very close to market streets and department stores, but also very quiet despite being by lots of bars and clubs.

Super nice hotel in Kyoto & good location

Super nice hotel in the heart of Kyoto. 5 min walk from the train station so getting from the fast trains (Shinkansen) or metro is easy. Near the main road too so makes it easy to get around Kyoto walking or bus but in a safe area. Modern hotel that is very spacious for Japan. Stayed with 4 adults and the beds were easily full/queen size. They have a seating area and table in front of the tv and a chair by the window. Hotel room has separate the toilet (with a sink) and the shower and tub and normal vanity. Also a kettle and refrigerator in the cabinet. Have 2 closets for storing jackets or luggage in the hallway before the bathroom. Staff is all super kind and has options on what to do on Kyoto whether for friends, solo travel or group. In the check in there’s amenities you can grab and they offer free coffee / tea 24/7. Think like office coffee/quick brew but would recommend for family or friends very worth it!

Nighlife & Temples in Kyoto

The location of this hotel is perfect, close to nightlife and restaurants, as well as shopping and markets. You can get anywhere in Kyoto with public busses that stop very close to the hotel. We really enjoyed the spacious, modern rooms and the extensive breakfast buffet. While the Cross Hotel Kyoto is rated 3 stars, it beats many 4+ star hotels we stayed in during our Japan trip.
