Excellent service and very courteous staff. Great spa/onsen area. They require you to take off the shoes at the entrance of the rooms. Having a stool or bench would be helpful to do so conveniently. There is a lounge with free snacks and drinks certain times of the day, yet that space could have made a nice gym instead. The only negative point is that there was no decaf pods for the Nespresso machine in the room. When I requested those specially, the hotel reception said there wasn’t any available at the hotel. No big deal, I bought 10 pods for $5 from the Nespresso store 10 minutes away, but could have been nicer if they provided. Also no decaf coffee at breakfast.

First and most, the quality of attentiveness received from the staff is truly special. At check in you don’t have to be standing at front desk, you can sit down relaxing while the staff is helping you check in process. All staff members have most beautiful manners ( just way they bow is elegant and in perfection ). They also help you above and beyond. Any request such as getting more tea bags or opening my safe ( I locked by accident) was taken care of such speedy and very pleasant manner. Concierge helped me tremendously for an exceptional dinner reservation. ( family and friends of 7) at Karoku ( great yakiniku and classic Japanese style). The lobby smells always nice and beautiful flower arrangement. The room is spacious and very tastefully decorated. The bed is comfortable. It was a pleasure going to large baths for gusts ( called Spa ). The location Gion is great. You can go many places just walking. Very romantic walking down Gion street. The bar is cozy. The bartender was very attentive and I enjoyed chatting with him since I was alone from my family at that time.

The hotel has an amazing location close to everything. Rooms are comfortable. The spa was clean and a nice option after days of walking. The common areas (bar, restaurant) are crowded because they are small relative to the number of guests. The lobby area is nice but during check in times it is extremely busy as well.

This was a great hotel with friendly staff that could not do enough for you. Nice spa and large comfortable room. The location in Gion was more residential and quiet but just a couple of blocks from the action.

Nice, new hotel! Staff was wonderful friendly and helpful. Location is great, right in Gion center plus walking distance to a night life district. One comment, expand your breakfast menu a bit with more European breakfast options.
