Nicely sized room on a quiet side street. Room had an odd smell, which the hair conditioner also smelled like. Had to wait a long time to do laundry as the machines are 2-in-1 wash and dry.

Shoebox Rooms

The room was super tiny. Definitely not comfortable to stay in a shoebox. We were two people and normal sized individuals but we had trouble moving around. The bathroom was super tiny too. We paid for breakfast and it was gross. Definitely would not recommend this hotel. I read reviews about how small the rooms were but chose to ignore. I'm regretting my decision.

Simple and decent hotel with not much frills. No amenities are provided in the room. It needs to be collected from lobby but nothing much there too very basic items. Room and corridor has a strong musty smell due to poor air circulation. I had to switch on the air purifier. AC is centrally controlled and so whatever you do in the room doesn’t get cold quickly in the August heat. Early mornings the rooms gets cold due to the temp setting control in the room. Room size was adequate for one person with not much luggage. Water is not provided in the room if you book online. I assume most of the people will be booking online only. The lift takes a long time to come and doesn’t indicate which one will come out of the two and the lift arrow light, on 5th floor doesn’t light up to indicate if you pressed it or not. Since I was traveling alone all these didn’t bother much but for 10k per night during obon holidays it was quite ok, nearest station is 7-10min walk. There are no bus stops nearby.. the 204 and 205 are 15 min walk away. Kawaramachi is at walkable distance and so is Nijo castle. For any hotel dining there is Matsuya within the hotel premises which is the very convenient. 7-11 and Lawson stores are nearby. Hotel Location is good as it’s in a residential ally so quiet peaceful too. No parking available at hotel so if you rent a car you need to park in paid parking.
