We had two bookings at this hotel, so two reviews. We loved everything about it. Breakfast was excellent, a good selection of western, Chinese and Japanese foods. The miso soup was REALLY good. Rooms were beautiful, lots of space for packing and unpacking, decent storage, nice bathroom and really attractive lighting and furnishings. Our room had a sink console in the middle of the room which sounds really weird but somehow just worked. Rooms had soap, shampoo etc and the hotel reception had amenities like Q-tips, toothbrush and toothpaste, available for guests to take. Outside the hotel was a main road with so many restaurants and shops. Access to the covered arcades and Nishiki market was also super convenient. There were some hotels inside the covered arcades, but being on the main road meant that we could step outside the hotel and get a taxi right away. Inside the reception area the hotel has a big map of the main temples and another big map of recommended restaurants, which was a really nice touch.

We loved everything about this hotel. It was so different from other hotels we’ve stayed at in Japan. Room is BEAUTIFUL, also a lot bigger than most, with good storage. Beds are great. Shower and bathroom are lovely. Breakfast is excellent. Area around the hotel has LOTS of stores and restaurants, traditional covered shopping streets, convenience stores, karaoke, buses and subway. It feels like the epicentre of Kyoto, I don’t see how the location can be better than this.

An easy stay right by the shipping arcade and working walking distance of plenty of things to see and do! Walked to the Nintendo store, the imperial palace, got great food, etc. Even stored our bags for us before and after our hotel stay at no charge. Recommended!

Great location
The hotel room is as expected in Japan. Not large but it was comfortable and clean. The bedding was of good quality and the pillows were soft. The staff at reception doesn’t speak great English and most of the time we had to use translator but they were nice enough. Very central for markets and the Gion area. I would stay again

Kyoto Hotel Siggestion
Location was pretty convenient and surrounded by plenty of shops/restaurants. However, the downfall was the noise from the main road. Size was not over generous but better than a Tokyo. My adult kids shared a twin for slightly more price but worth it for the space. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location as it was only 10 mins on the bus but they only allow roll on small suitcases. A taxi is around ¥2,500 for the short distance if you are interested.

Great hotel esp the room design. Front desk tram are polite and the breakfast has a varied selection. The location is what sets this apart, right in the middle of Kawaramachi, cant be beaten.

Only had a really brief overnight stay here - property was clean and nice, breakfast was plentiful and delicious, staff were lovely. Our room faced the main street and it was super loud, definitely grab the earplugs from the amenities offering!

Spacious hotel central to everything
Highly recommend if you want to be central to most things! Really enjoy your stay here and couldn’t have been more happy! Rooms were more spacious than usual rooms in Japan. Very cleans and staff was very friendly. Wish we stayed longer!

Excellent hotel. Safe, clean and very helpful staff. Rooms were small, but well appointed and clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was an extra charge, but the food was very good indeed and easy to get your money's worth at the buffet. The hotel is well situated for Nishiki market and lots of great dining options close by.

We loved the property. Would absolutely stay here again. Location was better than imagined — lots of shopping, things to do, and places to eat. We ubered to a few places and was so easy and fast to get one. The room was aesthetically pleasing, clean, looks just like the photos, and amenities were great.
