Really great hotel and I got it at a really good price, too! The staff was super nice and attentive. The room was big, clean, and comfortable. My only complaint was that it was a little far from any public transportation. There is a free hotel shuttle that takes you to the subway but I only used that only once or twice maybe. The shuttle comes every 20 mins which is great.

Amazing hotel, the room size was so large! Very luxury with a big bathroom and lots of great amenities. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Bed was comfy. The only downside was that it was a bit far away from the bus stops and train stations.

Beautiful hotel. Room was large and comfortable. Staff is very helpful, friendly, and professional. The shuttle service was very helpful since the property is several minutes away from the subway system. There are several restaurants on site but we did not eat there so I am unable to provide a review of them.

Upscale hotel next to Kyoto imperial palace
Beautiful hotel with impeccable service, staff was very helpful in our many guest requests and questions (it was our first time in Kyoto). Shuttle to the subway station was very convenient, from there you can walk to Nishiki market and other shopping places Walking distance to imperial palace and garden, short drive to city center and many sightseeing places, such as Nijo castle, Gion District, etc.

This property was amazing for its amenities and prices. A little hard to get to if you have a lot of baggage so recommend you take a taxi and be prepared to walk a bit of you want to eat outside of the hotel. Staff were amazing and very helpful so would still recommend this hotel for staying.

An unusually located hotel with a shuttle bus that’s timetable and pick up location are such a closely guarded secret that we were the only ones on the bus for each journey. The room itself had a number of quirks, including a duvet cover that was much larger than the duvet itself, a regular clicking noise through the night and a dehumidifier with a pulsing light that illuminates the room through the night. When using the toilet, the rest of the electronics in the room flicker and the flush of the toilet would be loud enough to light up the floor. All acceptable as part of an old, tired hotel, but it was the service that was extremely sub-par. From walking into reception, we felt like an inconvenience. Our name was taken on entering, but it turns out this was not with a view to checking us in. Staff seemed obsessed with rushing conversations with us. We were regularly reminded during the breakfast buffet of the closing time, and the breakfast staff seemed intent on having cleared all food away by 9.59am, just in case any guests dared to go up for one final plate. That being said, there was not a huge amount of food to be cleared, as the spread for the buffet was small and also basic. We were drawn in by the Expedia score and ignored the warnings in the reviews themselves. This is not a hotel welcoming of tourists in our experience and while they may respond with a message confirming these comments will be taken on board, we do not want others to make the same mistake.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is great. The hotel has shuttle bus to subway. If walking takes a bit of time to get around, it's a bit tough in the hot days.
