It is a well-located hotel with clean rooms, and the onsite onsen is a lovely addition. However, the staff were not helpful, and their service could definitely be improved.

Great location, beautiful space
Like most Jp hotel rooms, it's a small footprint, but really beautiful, design-forward update of a hotel, with a cool connection to the nextdoor temple (including options to see a service at 6:40am every day!) The incense in the lobby was my favorite thing-- and the location is incredible for Kyoto based hanging out.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Just a short walk away from the Gion, restaurants and shops. The hotel has a public bath I took advantage of every night to unwind and relax from a day of walking 20k steps.

Excellent little hotel and wonderful staff
Nice cozy room with two twin beds and a great walk in shower and bidet toilet in the bathroom. The mattresses were on the firm side, which my husband liked more than me, but the pillows were uncomfortable. But the linens were crisp and thick, and the room was very quiet and comfortable. About a 10 minute walk from train station, and very close to a large shopping mall area. Less than 1/2 hour walk to several shrines and historic areas but plenty of taxi and train options if you don’t want to walk. Staff were friendly, helpful and happy to speak English.

Really nice property with friendly staff. The hotel is located in the perfect area. Lots of shopping and food nearby but it’s just off the Main Street so it’s quiet at night and not too busy just outside. The only downside was we got a room with no view. Would have been nice to actually have a view.
