Check the alarm before you go to bed. Mine went off at 3:40 AM, and in the dark, I must’ve hit snooze rather than turning it off. 10 minutes later it’s ringing again. This is unacceptable. Maid-service should always, always, always verify that the alarm is off when they make up the room between customers.
Also, don’t misplace your keycard. They charge 1,000 yen.
Had an amazing time during our stay in Kyoto. Everything from the check in, the staff, the cleanliness, and the location were all perfect. Can’t recommend it enough. Definitely would stay here again!

Staff not friendly at all at the counter check in, the restaurant, baggage etc. In the restaurant four of us went in
for a night cap but one of the four did not feel like drinking. Restaurant policy is that to sit down every person must order a drink. On another day tried to get a cup of coffee and we were not allowed unless we bought the buffet breakfast. The staff here have no concept of what customer service is. No safes in room.
Very nice hotel closer to everything, room is bigger than other hotel i stay in Japan. The only downside is they reserved the room farthest in elevator which is not convenience for senior person. Some staff are not knowledgeable than others.
