After staying at this location for two weeks, 95% of the staff was wonderful! We had to leave a $100 deposit at the desk due to paying with cash. I also brought my ESA dog and when I checked in and offered to show legal documentation from my doctor, the employee said he didn’t need to see it. When we checked out, it seemed like the owner (or GM, not sure) tried just about everything to keep our deposit. One of the reasons was because we didn’t pay a pet deposit that is required. I then went on to explain that I had paperwork and offered it at check in….she persisted on as if I had done something wrong when in fact, it was her coworker that didn’t follow any policy. The dog area seemed to be a bit dirtier than it should have been but overall, the staff was pleasant, room was small and I felt safe. The tv could have been a bit bigger but the location was great. On a scale of 1-10, I’d rate the Microtel in Onalaska a 4.
We enjoyed our stay and the hotel was great for the price. It was very quiet and comfortable. The rooms are a little outdate but who cares! I did not notice any recycle bins so we recycled elsewhere. The breakfast contained a good variety of foods. AND coffee was available 24/7. The desk staff was very competent and friendly.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed st
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Sir did not really work, the hall ways were about 120 degrees so it must not have worked there. I know the hotel can’t do anything about the people staying but it was full of people who clearly do not care about people trying to relax and sleep. Pay the money and stay somewhere else, it isn’t worth the price. I have stayed in well over 400 hotels in my life and this one was the worst.
Check in was frustrating. She said she didn’t have a reservation for me. I told her I purchased through Expedia and she kept telling me no reservation. After about 8 minutes of me insisting I have a reservation, she found it.

The first room we got smelled terrible. Black mold around the ceiling in the bathroom. We went to the desk and said we couldn’t stay in that room. The young man was very nice and gave us a different room which ended up being fine but it was hard to get past the first room!
Nice place. Just traveling through and got caught in a rainstorm so decided to stop sooner than we planned to for the day. Was nice having Arby's within walking distance!
