The property is just a 2 minute drive from La fortuna its in an excellent location that offers both peace and quiet as well as access to great restaurants and activities. The on site amenities are excellent including the restaurant. The hotel staff is attentive, helpful and very responsive. Id recommend Casa Del Rio to any couple of family in La Fortuna! Cant recommend highly enough! -Tyler and Breanna

The resort is beautiful, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are so many things to do on the property, and it’s conveniently close to many activities, including the La Fortuna Waterfall. An amazing place to stay and relax, very safe and welcoming.

Fantastic staff, loved the room so much!! The only thing I would mention is our villa was downhill so the walk up to reception or the restaurant may be tedious for some, especially in the heat.

The property is beautiful, we saw lots of different birds. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant ranges from good to excellent. Their signature cocktails are quite delicious and very reasonably priced. Minor issues with our particular room: USB ports that did not work, but plenty of outlets if you have USB cubes. while there is loads of shelf storage there is no place to hang items other than a couple hooks in the bathroom. The biggest negative for us, since we are light sleepers, or the peacocks. They scream all day and all night. If this is not an issue for you you will have a wonderful time at this hotel. It is beautifully appointed inside and out.

This place was perfect! It was around all the others resorts where it can be crowded. Check in was fast and easy. Resort is literally down the street from the La fortuna downtown area. Not like the other resorts. Restaurant was amazing. Food was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovey lush property that cannot be beat. Plenty of activities, our 8 year old loved the water slide, soccer field and basketball court. There is also a paddle ball court but it was $60/hour extra. All other amenities are free. Free unlimited coffees from a machine in the gift shop was wonderful enjoyed plenty of cappuccinos! Perfect location, it is on a quiet, small side road just outside of town. We enjoyed walking down the road to get volcano pictures and the neighbourhood properties/farms. It is a safe area. The hotel itself is completely walled in, you cannot see inside the property at all until the wall slides open for you when coming and going. Staff are friendly and quick to help. They will drive you around the property on a golf cart if you like! Accommodation is individual villas, we had a luxury one with the whirlpool on the deck but they all looked private and concealed with natural flora. The room was modern and tidy. We requested house keeping clean the floor but unfortunately it was just swept or vacuumed, they don't seem to mop, the floor was filthy (made our feet black) the entire four nights we were there. I would say this is the only thing that could have been improved upon. We had a car, it was just a couple minutes to town by driving. We would absolutely stay here again as a base for exploring La Fortuna area. Pick this hotel if you want a quiet stay, immersed in plants! Restaurant had good food, free (delicious) breakfast and the servers work so hard.

We stayed for 2 nights and everything was brilliant. The staff were so friendly, the food was delicious and the atmosphere of the entire property was unbelievable. Just a bit too far to walk to town but it wasn't an issue. If youre thinking of staying here, BOOK IT! You will not be dissapointed!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are friendly and organized. The onsite restaurant is delicious. There’s plenty to do on the property with the spa, various pools, gyms, and other outdoor activity. It’s safely and conveniently placed near the active parts of town and night life. We highly recommend staying here. The only negative was how loud the birds are that are onsite, but when on vacation I’d chose that over the sounds of sirens and cars racing in the city at home.

The place is beautiful and we felt safe while staying. I understand that no matter where you stay in Costa Rica there will be bugs and such staying with you. We felt the resort could have put more effort in maintaining that the doors to the room closed without gaps that allow bugs to get in so easily. There was a large gap under the entrance door and also a gap between the sliding doors. At night we had to keep the lights off to not attract the critters into our room. I woke up each morning to ants being around my toiletries and toothbrush. The staff was helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had.
