Excellent stay. Highly recommend. Staff very friendly. Grounds very clean. Kids and adults loved the numerous thermal pool options. Staff was prompt and friendly when we needed help unlocking the safe and changing the bedding. Very tasty breakfast each morning.

Never saw the volcano :-(
Omg it was wet! Rainforest right?! Never saw the volcano in 2 days. Gutted - late Nov. Room great. Thermal pools nicely done. Dinner very disappointing - tough steak and limp asparagus and not cheap. Breakfast varied. Informal - people in towels by/in open restaurant. Staff v nice. Grounds fab.

We stayed one night and loved it! The hot springs were incredible - there was so many hot springs for use, along with a sauce, pool, and outdoor showers. We absolutely loved the experience at the hotel, as well as the dinner at the on-site restaurant. We booked a room with a personal hot spring and barely used it because it was too hot the available ones for all guests were so amazing.

Volcano Lodge exceeded my expectations in the best way. The grounds are gorgeous, immaculately kept by the groundskeepers. The hot springs are plentiful with varying temperatures and extremely clean. The resort is spacious with ample privacy while also feeling intimate and friendly. The staff are incredible. In particular, Denzel, Alejandro and Jordan went out of their way with their hospitality. They were so friendly and attentive while also patient with me practicing my Español! The housekeepers were also great. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The location of the resort is great being both close to downtown La Fortuna and La Fortuna Waterfall as well as Mistico Bridges. Prior to our stay I was concerned that the resort seeming very family friendly would feel crowded with families and young children. This wasn’t the case at all even though I think the resort was fully booked. Nothing ever felt crowded at all. There are so many hot springs and spots to lounge that there is a great amount of privacy if you choose. On our second day the Volcano came into full view and it was spectacular. From the main pool and hot spring area we had a perfect view. I highly recommend Volcano Lodge and would stay here again. Extremely good value for a lovely luxurious resort.

Best hot spring hotel
This hotel was amazing. Check in was fast and easy. Pool and property was clean. The room has A/C and a fan with a cute patio where you could hear the river. The staff was very friendly and greeting us with our first name. The hot spring was very relaxing and with a swim up bar we could have stayed all day. This hotel was also very close to all the attractions, only a 5-10 minute drive to everything. Buffet breakfast included made it nice to start our day without having to worry about waiting for food. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in La Fortuna.

Beautiful property. We loved the breakfast and happy hour and the pools/tubs. Nice shower. Our room was a little close to the busy street and a little noisy but not a big deal.

A high quality hotel with bungalows set in impeccably manicured gardens with beautiful flowers and birdlife. Rooms were large and scrupulously clean, decor slightly plain. Staff were generally helpful and curteous, but we did have one problem in the restaurant with slow service which revealed the customer is not always seen to be right in this hotel! I read a recommendation to stick to the Costa Rican dishes, which we found to be good advice.
