This hotel stay was WAY better than most higher end hotels I have stayed at in the past. The staff was so friendly and attentive. They have recently renovated the entire hotel and it looks FANTASTIC and very modern. For a budget hotel, you have all the necessary amenities AND a free continental breakfast. We stayed on a weekend and the hotel was so quiet and we had absolutely no issues. Theo owner goes above and beyond and will help you out and answer any questions you may have. They are pet friendly and we had a puppy with us so the staff made sure our room was by a convenient exit door where we could take our pup out to the bathroom. We will definitely stay at the Almac Hotel every time we visit Lac La Biche from now on.

Nice dark curtains and comfortable bed. Very accommodating staff. The only thing that could have made my stay better would be a coffee maker and microwave in the room. There is a continental breakfast however up until 10:00 am and the staff even offered to make me something after that time because I slept in :)

Pretty grungy stay
Booked a pet friendly room, when we got there they said it wasn’t booked as pet friendly. They were able to change the room but they themselves stated “the room is not good and not renovated”. The room smelled so bad like smoking. The heater had old dryer sheets tucked in it. The bathroom was not clean. There were flys everywhere in the room. The lamp had been written on with marker by someone. In the morning to check out I waited at the counter for 15 minutes with no service. There was no bell or anyway to call staff to the desk. Overall not good.

It was a convenient place for the night while my dog was at the vet. The room was nice, quiet for the most part. There is train tracks nearby, but I only heard it twice and it wasn't super late or super early in the morning so not an inconvenience. Staff were super friendly and accommodating.

Really age stone old property depsite in renovation process. The room didn't have cloth hangers. Air cond only cam set at 67F, temperature adjustment will trip the unit. Difficult to adjust shower water temperature. Toilet bowl requires numerous flushing otherwise cannot be flush. Toilet bowl has disgusting black marks that never flushed. The door chain lock felt off immediately after entered the room.
