Beautiful! I didn’t want to leave!

Steele Hill is absolutely beautiful! My room was clean and comfy and reasonably priced for a resort! I will say check in can be confusing as they said I was staying in the main building. The map only says east building, west building etc. You would think the brightly lit building on the hill would be the main building, but that’s incorrect. A sign outside the buildings would be really helpful, especially for people arriving after dark like I did! Also, the hotel is located on the top of a hill, about 5 miles from the closest town, and only has one restaurant/option for food. My complaint is that I booked the hotel with specific plans to eat at the restaurant for dinner and everything I saw said it would be open- it was not. This isn’t cosmic, but definitely inconvenient when it’s the only thing close by and I’d specifically booked the hotel knowing I was going to have a late day and planning the restaurant around that. Overall the resort was absolutely stunning and the view cannot be beat!! Highly recommend staying here for a lovely getaway!

My fiance and I have stayed here multiple times since we me over a decade ago (and he and his family stayed in the 90s!). It is a perfect location to get away from the city and just relax and there is entertainment nearby and on property for the whole family. The amenities and grounds are a little dated but that just adds to the New England charm, in my opinion. The Hilltop restaurant has solid food and amazing service. You're in close proximity to Lake Winnipesaukee, about 30 minutes away from the Tilton outlets, and about 45 minutes away from the start of the White Mountain hiking trails. Cozy spot, good for families and couples. There was even a wedding up here this weekend!

There was some corrosion on the ceiling. It was not the cleanest unit. There are already a ton of stairs, which caused a problem because my son was in a boot due to a sprain. I feel there’s better options when I give this overall a three star

We stayed at this resort for 2 nights with my family. The only good thing about this place is the location and the beautiful view. Unfortunately, everything else was very disappointing. I had visited back in 2015, and after 10 years, nothing has changed — the hotel is still very old and outdated. The furniture and beds are worn out; the beds literally sink when you lie down. There’s a damp smell in the rooms, and the TV is extremely small. There is only one restaurant, and the food is not good at all. Breakfast was supposed to be a buffet, but there were barely any options, and nothing was labeled — you don’t even know what you’re eating. For two nights we paid $1377, which is absolutely not worth it. The only thing we enjoyed was the view and the pool, but the fact that they haven’t renovated or improved anything in the past 10 years is really disappointing.

If you are a couple looking for some relaxing time, this is not the property for you. This is very much a family focused property with unsupervised children everywhere. It seems like the property is generally understaffed and it affects the quality of the stay. The indoor poor really should have an attendant just to keep things tidy and managed the children. The slide in the indoor pool is unsupervised, and I personally witnessed several children who should not have been on the slide in the first place get injured as well as one adult take a rather severe hit to the head because they were improperly using the slide. We had a room in the older portion of the property and it desperately needs some updates. The only source of heat or cooling is in the kitchen / living room so the bedroom temperature is unregulated. The room was never serviced while we stayed there but there was an envelope for someone to tip the housekeeper. For what exactly? We went to the restaurant the first say we arrived and were told we would have to wait for a table despite there being at least a dozen empty tables.... so we went to the bar and a single bartender was trying to fill dining room orders and then take orders for the 3 tables he had in the bar. We waited 45 minutes for the food once we managed to order it and it was terrible. We ate all meals off property after that..

The floors were sticky. It was very rustic and not a luxury hotel at all. Exposed pipes in bathroom and main room. Paper thin walls with a lot of families going there. Cracks in the sink. With quite expensive nightly rate. Not worth it at all. I have pictures to prove it.
