First off, we were excited to stay at this property. Proximity to the beach is amazing. PCH has plenty to offer. Trolley line is extremely close to the hotel. The roof top has a nice view of the ocean. The room on the other hand was a huge disappointment. The room was on the 1st floor which had a huge amount of street noise. There is no insulation in the walls so we can hear everything our neighbors were saying at night. The room stated there was a white noise machine which we couldn't find. The room smelled damp. The vent in the bathroom turns on but feeling the vent, you can tell it is barely working. When we got into the hotel, the bathroom smelled like it was recently used and continued to stay like that even with the vent turned on. Other small details such as purchase UPC stickers showcased on the planters, and the art in the public hall being hung with the artist name upside down. Obviously this is not a hotel that pays attention to detail. I am not sure what the other rooms are like, the ones that have their own balconies seem much better. However, I suggest anyone staying here makes sure they will not be staying on the 1st floor which is below street level.

Read one criticism that the street was noisy...PCH is a major thoroughfare. Ask for a room away from the street if that is a concern. Television access was limited, but don't go to Laguna to watch tv. Excellent accommodations.

Nice location.
The location was great. Had a glimpse of the ocean from our room. Staff that we interreacted with were always very nice and helpful. Room was average. Coffee service was poor. No microwave in the room but there was one in the lobby. There was no maid service unless you wanted to pay extra, so we ended up with tons of soiled towels in the room and a lot of sand. Bed was comfortable though.

Sonder room 101. Very noisy. Room Comes with earplugs. This room is on the corner below sidwalk level. Morning trash truck actually vibrated the room. Commercial trucks also vibrated the room. Forget about opening the window. Digital key didn’t seem to work on all doors. Other rooms may be great, but avoid 101. This room should be for utilities and storage, not for guests. Easy trolley access.

Convenient location and nearby beaches are beautiful rocky coves. Kudos to Laguna Beach for their free trolley system! Our room was much smaller than expected (double queen) with no separate sitting area other than the bench at the bottom of each bed.
