Wonderful stay at the Aston Kaanapali Shores
We had a wonderful stay at the Aston Kaanapali Shores! The staff was very friendly & helpful. The grounds were well maintained and the pool/bar restaurant was great! Many kids, however, which did make it quite noisy & not so relaxing, but it was fine. The rooms are a bit dated, but did suffice and we had everything we needed to make us comfortable.

This property is a charming quintessential vintage Hawaiian hotel. The suite we were given was clean and comfortable with a sizable kitchen. The washer and dryer in the condo allowed us to launder our swimsuits after swimming which was quite convenient. The ocean view from the right side of our balcony and from the bedroom were nice. The hotel staff were all welcoming and full of the aloha spirit. The pool near the beach was nice and warm. The beach had strong currents so we didn’t swim in the ocean but saw some whales while relaxing in the beach daybed. The restaurant on property serves good food and drinks. Overall, we would return here.

The property was fabulous , clean, I would definitely stay there again. The staff was amazing! I think the resort could be a five star if it had a shuttle that’s the only thing that would make it outstanding even if it’s a 5 mile radius because there’s so many things within 5 miles that you can go to Whalers village, nearby beaches , and then he would not need to rent a car! It would definitely be a plus!!!

The property was a bit dated but all seemed functional. The air conditioner went out and they had to adjust the sensor. Communication was fair to poor. We asked for extra blankets twice before we got them. We asked for salt and pepper and they would not provide it for us. We asked for extra soap and toilet paper twice and it never came. We had to complain once about the loud late night swimming after 10pm, but they got shoed away by security. The last night, the folks above us coughed so loud constantly, we thought he must have COPD. Finally, they woke up at 5:30 and sat out on the deck coughing and talking to the point I had to get up. Too bad. Thank goodness we checked out that day!

I'd come back again
This was our second time staying at this resort. We like the easy beach access, kitchen, washing machine, the pools and how they are orientated on the property, ocean view, and ease of walking access to local stores and restaurants. The property might not be as fancy as some others in the areas but it makes up for it with it's location and amenities. This time our room was a little smaller but more updated than last time. It's still come back again.

Rooms are adequate; don’t expect any frills. Beach in front of hotel is not as good as other resorts in area. Rooms have laundry and kitchenette which is great for longer stays. Dining options nearby are limited.
