Hotel is fairly new. Not fancy, but good hotel for the price. My primary issue is that our bathroom…it had a sliding barn door which did not provide much privacy, and the sink was in the bathroom which keeps two people from using the space at one time. We prefer suites that have the sink and mirror outside the room where the toilet and shower are. For a suite, it would have been nice to have a design that devoted more space to the bathroom and less to the kitchenette which we did not use at all. There was no additional sitting space in the suite. For one person, the suite would be fine. The layout could have been better designed for two people staying there. Having said that, we would stay there again if ever in the area.

I got there to check in at 4:30 and the lady said my room wasn’t ready. I believe check in was for 3:30. Fortunately I had plans so I told her I would be back later that evening. Also when I arrived in room the chemicals smell was very overwhelming. I appreciate my room being very clean but it was excessive. The receptionist in the morning and checking in was not friendly at all.

This hotel was kept up very nice as far as cleanliness. The staff wasn't so friendly upon our welcome or at breakfast. They seemed annoyed that we pushed the bell to call someone to assist us. Other than that, everything was just fine. Not sure about the area but wasn't far from Lake Charles.
