+ The room was reasonably spacious. The bed was comfortable. Everything was clean. Lighting was good, the one ceiling light in the entrance hall helped. - The opaque curtains (solid) were no longer completely light blocking because they were in such bad condition. The hallway sound dampering acoustics was terrible. Location of the bathroom tissue holder is poor. There was not a refrigerator or microwave. Online advertising stated that there would be. After asking for a refrigerator at the front desk one was quickly brought. Three nights without a microwave. The pool was closed. Apparently concrete work had recently been completed.

Area surrounding the hotel was beatiful. Ate at the steak house. It was delicious. Cons were that there were no water stations . No ice machine on my floor. And the air conditioner was so loud it was hard to sleep.

The bed was comfortable. Curtains did not shut out light, and sun shone in my face at 6:30 am. Incessant loud hammering began at 7 am on a Sunday morning. The thermostat does not control room temperature, so you can either have stuffy or 62 degrees. No convenient outlets for charging cables. Artwork is ugly and disturbing - why when you are located in Lake Tahoe, do you have photos of deadfaced or on fire rockers? Swimming pool was closed even though it is listed as an amenity. Parking charge to walk a loooong way with your luggage. Awful place!

No hot water - prepare to take cold showers. When I informed the front desk, a young lady responded with attitudes “it is because everyone is taking shower at same time.” - No apologies either. No electricity to bedside lamp and USB ports to charge the phones and etc. Again, when I requested an extension cord to the front desk, same nasty response saying “you can power only one side of bed”. - No extension cord and again, no apologies. The room was very warm and noisy fan from the air conditioning was not effective. Again, no apologies and no follow ups. Lastly, drunk kids were talking very loudly in the hallway waking up many people on that floor. When I called the frontdesk using my phone because there was no power the hotel phone, again there was no follow up and no apologies. If you are ok with no hot water in the shower, no air conditioning, no electrical power by bedside, and lack of responses by hotel staff, this may be your hotel. Otherwise, GO ELSEWHERE.

Great get-away

We stayed there before it was the nugget and wasnt sure we should try it again. Im glad we did. It is so much better. Improved comfort, clean, super dog friendly. We were in room 1515. We felt it was the best view in the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay.

The location was convenient for our purposes. The parking was convenient if a bit expensive. The restaurant on site had good food, good entertainment, and was very attentive in the beginning. The king mattress was so soft that the edges felt like you might fall off when sitting on the bed, but were comfortable to sleep in. The A/C was not reliable and did not keep a stable temperature. Requested a fan (like the sign recommended!) but it never arrived. Woke up more than once because it got warm in the room. The bathroom door wasn't set right so you had to pull it close. Rooms didn't have refrigerators and the closest ice machine was out of order. Phone had a wireless handset that did not work. My sister's room's shower did not maintain any temperature other than cool and she did not have a desk or office chair (like my room had). The chair she had was not comfortable. We will not stay in this hotel again.

We always come tonTahoe for the bike ride. The big draw for us to bring the whole family to the golden nugget was for the kids to use the pool. The pool was advertised but not in use due to construction? The shower drain barely worked and there was no shower curtain. We will be back for the next ride but will choose another hotel that offers what the golden nugget advertised.

This hotel is a mess. The fitness center does not even qualify to be called that. There is little equipment and what is there is partially broken. There are no wipes to clean anything even though I requested them. We had a room upgrade with a balcony with a door that does not lock. There were chicken nuggets on the balcony railing when we checked in. The room safe did not work. The bathroom is so small and the sink stopper did not work. Why would I stay here again?
