The kitchen ladies were sweethearts. Did not get the name of the receptionist that checked us in but she was so helpful and very nice. Overall we loved everything. Definitely coming back here.

Great location to Heavenly Ski Resort and Tahoe Village! You can walk to shops, restaurants, and gondola. It’s only a few miles from California Heavenly parking lot. Free hot breakfast before skiing was a plus. Our room was updated and clean. Perfect for our ski trip to Tahoe.

Noisy buzz sound outside front window

I paid extra to be in a larger room and there was loud noise outside the room during the evening. At first, we thought it was the heater but was able to eliminate that when we turn it off. I called the front desk told them about it, he said they he had no idea what the problem was. I asked if they could send someone up. After waiting about an hour, they sent someone up and he determined it was the light outside our window. Noise was very loud! The gentleman that came up to check it out said he would tell the front desk to move us to another room. Waiting & waiting for phone call from front desk to get back to me, no communication! I had to call after about 45 minutes, finally we were able to switch rooms at about 9:30-10:00 pm (in our pajamas) in the cold (Tahoe). Had to make several trips to carry skis, boots , luggage to new room on lower floor after I had to walk back to get new key. It was quite an inconvenience. When I asked the night front desk employee, how do we get compensation for the inconvenience, his answer was "Not Me" I think we deserve some kind of rebate / compensation. At least the difference between a standard room & the upgraded larger room. Also, Holiday Inn Express advertises a hot tub. This is the 2nd time in a row that hot tube wasn't unavailable. Thank you. For the price, the property was not up to par. We paid $2,100 for four nights. The room was very run down. Beds were lumpy, carpet dirty and had tears in it. The first night we had NO hot water. In the winter. We were told there was no maintenance person on the entire property and we would have to wait until the morning to have someone look into it. So no showers for us. Bathtub had a hair in it, not a hug deal, that sometimes happens, I could tell the room had been cleaned, but the no hot water was an issue. Then on the third day something weird happened. We left the room in the morning, I was the last to use the restroom. When we returned, the room had been cleaned, however the toilet (there was only one toilet) was clogged! With a maxi pad and toilet paper. Totally odd, since I do not use maxi pads as I am past that point. So there was a pad floating and toilet paper clogging the toilet. Totally perplexing. After the confrontation I had with the front desk clerk regarding the water on the first night, I did not report this issue, but my husband graciously unplugged the toilet. We actually left one night early (Sunday instead of Monday morning). As I'm writing this, I called to get my receipt emailed to me just to make sure they check us out, I was just told that I would have to call back tomorrow morning because no one on the premises knows how to look up a reservation or email a receipt except a manager and there are no managers on duty. Again, bit of a mess.

In the heart of South Lake Tahoe . Walking distance (within ~10 min) to many restaurants. Free hot breakfast is a great bonus very convenient for family to ski at Heavenly . Staff are very friendly as well! Highly recommended.
