This place was nice. I’m always afraid to book in Tahoe because I know that the buildings are old. It has been modernized. The hot tub was amazing. It was hot, not like lukewarm taking a bath with others. Property was all kept. Bathroom was clean.

We had to cut our stay short because none of us could sleep comfortably in the room. The temp would not go below 80 degrees despite adjusting the air multiple times. The air blowing into the room also seemed to be dusty as we all left with stuffy noses and sore throats. It’s not reasonable to open the sliding door for air with the weather being 20 degrees outside, especially with children. I’ve read other reviews with guests having the same issue and unfortunately it doesn’t seem the hotel has attempted to fix this at all. We won’t be staying again.

We had stayed here last year and had a good experience, but after this trip will not be back. It was an unusually warm weekend for February and when we checked in our room temp was 80 degrees. It did not cool down despite setting the temp on the thermostat as low as it could go. The next day we brought this up with the front desk and they sent a maintenance person to look into it. He was very kind and said everything seemed to be working as expected and to leave the fan on to cool the room down. Unfortunately the second night was the same thing. A could hours after closing the door and leaving the fan on it was back up to 78 degrees. When we checked out and brought this up to the front desk the explanation was that this is just how the system works and that if we wanted the room cooler we should have left the door open all night. This is not a realistic solution for a room overlooking the highway. As an added bonus everything we put in the fridge froze solid overnight. After 2 nights of no sleep we’re happy to be leaving Hotel Azire behind.
