Downtown beats The Strip!

First off, I much preferred downtown LV to The Strip. It’s more accessible and has pockets of old-school charm. The hotel was excellent value for money, ideal location and the check-in / check-out process smooth as you’d expect at a big hotel. Also, the free parking in the garage across the road was brilliant. The room was clean, modern and spacious and the pool area was enormous and a great vibe! I’d give 5 stars if not for a lack of staff to speak to when a broken sprinkler set off an alarm a few floors above us one night, causing lots of confusion. Over all, excellent.

You get what you pay for. The surrounding area is pretty dirty with lots of sad homeless people hanging around. If you park your car in the garage Averie the street, be warned, the elevator doesn’t work and you will have to be sure to not step human waste. The pool was pretty gross, the restaurant wasn’t open, the drinks were pretty expensive for the atmosphere, the cleaning crew won’t come clean your room unless you ask a ton of times either. If you’re on a real budget the room price might be alright but I’m definitely paying a little more to stay at a better up kept property. We were also locked out of our entire floor for over an hour.
