Enjoyed Golden Gate's uniqueness
This place isn't for picky people. We loved how antique it is. You can open the windows and I suppose you can climb out but we didn't test it out. Our room was behind the Golden Gate sign

Staff and everyone was friendly and helpfully you know need. Not gonna lie in my room on second floor you can still hear music from Fremont st. But that what i paid for hahaha. Very clean no complaints

They put me in a room with the window facing the stage. The music was loud every night I couldn’t go to sleep till everyone would leave Fremont. The worse experience I have ever had! Then they had no AC so I had to open the window to get cool air. I paid $500 way too much for a horrible experience

The only thing good about this hotel is the location! You literally walk outside and the Fremont Experience is right outside the door. Everything else about this location and the experience was disappointing - they definitely don’t thrive on creating a positive guest experience. If you want a good nights rest, this is NOT the spot for you! The windows are paper thin and you hear everything, even the chatter of walking bystanders. You will get no sleep! You will pay a “resort fee” for amenities that are located at others resort that you have to walk to and/OR be 21 to use. How this is even allowed is really baffling. Their amenities lack or rather there aren’t any!!! I couldn’t even get a cup of coffee in the mornings, who doesn’t offer coffee??? I also traveled with my minor son who wasn’t able to use any of the pool amenities because he was under 21 (shared access to sister hotels pool had age requirements). The rooms are super small, not ample outlets for charging personal devices, booked a room for myself and adult son and was only offered a double bed, the bathroom was smaller than my arm span, no bath. Unable to regulate room temperature, you could not adjust whether the fan was on or kicked on automatically. The temperatures outside varied during our stay and our room was either freezing or too hot, which made for an uncomfortable stay. Lesson learned. If you are looking for just a place to lay your head then this is the place for you! If anything more stay elsewhere!

They should definitely make it more clear that there’s an extra charge per night after you’ve already purchased the hotel room and they should be much nicer when informing the customer that there is a charge if they didn’t know because. It’s definitely not clear in the email … it took them a good 10 minutes to find where it actually said that there would be more charges. Probably shouldn’t charge someone after they’ve already paid for the hotel anyways just put those fees in when they’re actually purchasing the ticket would be much easier. when someone’s going on vacation they bring the money they have for vacation and no one‘s expecting to pay another $200 for literally nothing. There was no refrigerator. The shower was terrible. The TV kept going in and out of signal. I don’t know what the extra money was for. I definitely was not happy with the entire experience.

I love love love this property and where it is located in reference to all the amazing fun stuff that you can see and explore on the Fremont Street experience. Awesome bang for your buck too. Las Vegas has so many cool and fun things to offer and the Golden Gate Hotel is right in the middle of it all. Omg and the hotel room windows open, so if you go at the right time of year, you can have the window open for fresh air

We don’t know we were put into a smoking room so that was not good. Our room was literally a window on Fremont so noisy and bright lights with curtains that didn’t block it out. The room was outdated, and generally unpleasant (ac not overly working, too loud) There are no real onsite options for food and such, having to go to sister properties for anything which led us to trying to spend more time away from the hotel. It’s far different than it was 10 years ago and not for the better.

I liked the history of the property but there was justvsomething missing. The staff there was unpleasant and could care less if we were there. The valet guys were the best of the place. There was one security guy there that any time i looked at him he looked at me lije he wanted to throw me out.

Room 218 has casino loudspeakers built into the floor that play bass heavy music at 67 decibels until 3:30am when reduced to 60db. Impossible to sleep. No price reduction. Moved to a room with no temp control on the shower. Water valves were stripped. Staff were very pleasant. The manager was rude as hell.No matter how bad things are, no discounts or comps. Simple fixes could be done. They don't care.
