Our stay at the Golden Nugget was disappointing from the start. The main entrance has no ramp, and the elevators weren’t working, making it hard to bring in luggage. At check-in, the self-serve kiosk wouldn’t validate my booking due to an expired credit card. A staff member helped, but I still had to repeat the process.
Our room was filthy—grimy tub, sticky carpet, packing tape on the ceiling, and a toilet that barely flushed and sprayed water on the seat and floor. Everything felt dirty and poorly maintained.
We tried to ignore it, but by morning, we couldn’t imagine another night there. The front desk offered to waive one night’s resort fee (~$40) and switch rooms. We left our bags at the bell desk and waited for a text that never came.
By after 4 p.m., we still had no room access and had to call to get assigned one. When we picked up our bags and mentioned our frustration, a staff member rolled his eyes and said we should have reported issues the day before—as if that excused everything.
Even in the newer Rush Tower, the property feels dated, the service is indifferent, and cleanliness is unacceptable. Would not return.
