I would not stay in the Carson tower again. Delivery trucks show up around 3:30 am with backup safety beepers going off.

Staying at the Golden Nugget was perfect to take in the sites and sounds of Freemont St. The hotel has multiple dining options but a standard room is less than what you’d expect. No coffee maker, no fridge!! A daily resort fee of just under $50US/day was charged to our room for complimentary water in your room and wifi. UNBELIEVABLE. The pool was closed for the season. It cost roughly $30US to get a cab to the Strip. Probably wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.

Loved the location, right on Freemont. You can tell the hotel is older and I wasn’t expecting perfection but the shower had a bunch of long black hair stuck to the wall…. Boyfriend and I are blonde. The bed and pillows were amazing!

The Golden Nugget is one of the older hotels/casinos but the history is worth it. They provide all you could need. Unlike staying at the fancy Vegas Strip with all the newest hotels, the convenience of walking out any door and it puts you on to Fremont St. where all manner of entertainment abounds! Truly I believe if you’ve never been to Vegas you must start by staying downtown at the Golden Nugget and the first thing you should do is take a historic walking tour. Everything in downtown Las Vegas is much cheaper than the strip, it’s a great place to get your feet wet. They do allow smoking in the casino, and they once allowed smoking in the hotel rooms, your room will smell like smoke at first but running the air conditioner will help that smell to dissipate. Take the time to notice the beautiful light fixtures all throughout the common areas they’re remarkable. In the warm months the pool is built so that you can swim right up to their enormous salt water fish tank! The hotels employees are wonderfully kind, knowledgeable and helpful, just so long as you as a guest remember your manners and show respect during your stay at The Golden Nugget Hotel ensuring your stay will be wonderful!
