This is going to be my new go-to on the strip. We had a 5 day trip and they now offer early check in ($) and late check out ($) for flights that are super early and leave late. I love that so much. We lost AC and I called the front desk. Within 5 minutes maintenance was there and resolved our problem (more involved that just a fuse) within 2 hours. We just went to the pool while they worked. Only real issue was the shower. Our particular room was like warm at best first three days, but tolerable. Day four it was only cold. So I called down and the front desk person said ‘it’s a super old building and if I let it run for 15 minutes the hot water would eventually arrive”. She was right!! 11 minutes later we had actual HOT water! Wish they would have told us this at check in, but I’m guessing not every room/floor deals with this. It just seems so wasteful and strange since the sink in the bathroom was hot immediately! Crazy. But MGM Grand is a solid choice for a number of reasons. Rooms are quiet, monorail can get you to the other end of the strip in 15 minutes and the pools are nice with lots of chairs. Although the lazy river is sometimes the only pool open on Mondays, and the floats are $36 (not sure if it’s purchase or rent) a float tube. BRING YOUR OWN IF POSSIBLE! Saw lots of people with their own. OR buy one at ABC for $5.99!!

Quality accommodations at a lower price for the Strip, with easy access to the Strip Tram and the fastest cab-trip to the airport. I’ve stayed in at least half of the hotels on the Strip, and MGM remains one of my favorites for its convenience, cleanliness, and price. However… MGM is a hot draw for the weekend pool-party crowd because the rooms are affordable, the parking is easy, and the pool is awesome. I do not stay here on the weekends because the 20-somethings are … a lot. That said, they tend to go to other clubs to party at night, so the casino area is quieter than other spots.

Everything was good with the property except the water pressure in the shower. It was very low. That’s the only reason for the ‘good’ review. I’ve stayed there before and will go back again. Also, I wish there was more information posted about the gym hours. One person told us it opens at 7, but when we got there, it had opened at 6. But the place has everything you need!

Be prepared to get an extremely dirty room. One of my beds had stains on the sheets and the bathroom tub also had dirt stains. It is a complete rip off to pay $200+ a night for a room that looks like a dirty motel
