The Downtowner is a little run down and has thin walls so it can be noisy. The staff however were very professional and helpful. It's a good choice for low budgets and the location is quite convenient -- it is less than a ten minute walk to Fremont experience. There were homeless folks sleeping on nearby sidewalks but I never felt unsafe walking back to hotel alone late at night (70 F).
