Won’t be going back to stay at ‘The New Pioneer’!

We pulled into the parking lot Thursday afternoon only to find out they were repaving the whole lot and we had to park far away from our room and carry our luggage across the parking lot to the next building cause everything was blocked off! We had no notification that the parking lot was being repaved and the repaving started early in the morning into the early evening. It was NOT a pleasant stay at all! We asked for a luggage cart to tole 3 people’s luggage’s and bags and a n ice chest, but was told someone is using it as they not had one. 2 hours later we were told the luggage cart was back, only because my husband was told when he went to the front desk to ask for something! The notices on the building said the parking lots would done on Saturday, August 16 and it was not done and we had to park a mile away from our room when we got back Saturday evening. We had to lug our luggage to our vehicle when we left Sunday morning as the parking lot in front of our room was blocked off because it wasn’t finished. And the yellow parking logs were n the middle of the sidewalks and I tripped over them twice………gouging my foot on one of the rebarab spikes sticking out! Our sink was clogged, the electric outlets weren’t working as the plugs would not stay in and when I booked the room a couple months ago, I booked it for 3 people and we had to go to the front desk for more towels! The floors in our rooms were not clean……it was a horrible stay in our room!

For what we paid it was decent enough for our needs. Traveled for a family funeral. Room was clean, check in was great, staff very friendly. The only issue I had was the bed was to hard and the sheets and pillowcases felt stiff. Too much starch? For what is worth it suited our needs.

Parking lot is being re done, and is a mess!!!!! Tub and bathroom was dirty... Had a connecting door to the next room, and it was like the door wasn't even there, the lady was SO LOUD talking... She was up until 2 am, then early in the morning, she woke me up again! Walls are paper then...Terrible! Cheap wood for construction inside/out!

Satisfactory overnight stay

This is a big motel. Beds were comfy and room spacious. No coffee or fridge in room but bottled water was provided the ice machine wasn’t working. Not sure if this was a one off as there was a notice on it talking about buying ice from shop on site. No hairdryer in room but one was provided by reception when we asked. Surprisingly quiet at night considering it’s part of the casino. Overall, it was fine for a short stopover.

Project underway without any forewarning

My family and I drove into town after a 24 hour drive, only to be woken up an hour after arriving by the front desk to move my car across the parking lot to a neighboring casino/resort due to project manager being inept at their job. Unfortunately, with multiple slipped discs in my back, having to walk a quarter mile in 117*F is not the best option for me. Was harassed by the “head of security” who caught himself yelling at me in front of my children and being extremely disrespectful as I was simply trying to drop my children off closer to the room as we were previously granted permission to do so. Had I not been so exhausted, I would have preferred to just go to the Tropicana across the street. Would never return again.
