Upon arrival you can tell the gentleman was having a bad day. I tried making fiendly conversation and only got single word responses back and that drowned out "I have to do my job" tone. I was originally given a smoking room since I wanted a King bed. I couldnt do it, the smoke smell was so bad, the room wasnt clean and just a yucky feeling. So I asked to just switch to a non smoking room which where all 2 queens. I found out then that the gentlemen who checked us in was a supervisor! Yikes. But he did give the ok for me to move to a non smoking room since I didnt touch anything in the smoking room. This room definitely smelt better but still pretty dirty.

The room appeared nice when we got there. Should have looked ahead of time as we didnt have a fridge. No soap in the despensers and only 3 pillows per bed. I know its hard to avoid but the room smelled smoky instantly made us itchy and uncomfortable. Had to take benadryl to fall asleep. The bathroom shower was leaking all night and only 2 towels.

The photos advertised must be of an updated room. The room we were given was old and rundown. The bathroom was extremely small. The bathroom sink was dirty when we arrived what looked to be hair clippings from someone who shaved prior to us. The water pressure in the shower was horribly low it was comical. The condition of the room felt run down. We called to housekeeping twice to request extra towels and a pillow and never received them. We checked out as soon as we could. There is a heavy cigarette smell throughout the entire building. The positive I can give and why I didn’t rate this as 1 star. Would be the kindness of the staff. The front desk was great and welcoming, the valets and bellhops were very helpful and fast.

We went to dinner at Brew Brothers, we were a party of 14. In our group one person was using awalker, they had a broken leg with cast. The hostess would not allow him in the dining area with the walker. She refused until the walker was folded and he hobbles his way to the dining area. No one made a scene, but this was a ridiculous policy.

I was in crutches and the front desk staff placed me in the furthest room from the elevators. I booked the hotel room about 3 months in advance for a king mattress, upon check in only two queens were available. The front desk asked if it was okay, like it was an option, to go back to a king size mattress room since they were unavailable. The hotel room didn’t have a mini fridge and was not super clean. The tub has lime marks in it and didn’t have any complimentary soap. Overall stay was terrible.

Rumors clean, staff is always nice and accommodating. The only thing I found at the Tropicana is the HVAC system is very poor. Especially when it gets cold at night the heater does not work very well and I've stayed in several rooms and found it to be consistent throughout the building.

The room was clean. Check in was fast. The shower had excellent water pressure. We have stayed here many times for events and concerts. Easy walk to the event center. Very convenient! Only 4 stars because it's hard to get a decent meal in a timely manner, not enough eateries that are open. $2.00 charge for a to-go order. Drinks are way too expensive if you don't gamble. Many video poker machines are sticky and don't work. A non-carbonated non-alcoholic beverage would be much appreciated (such as brewed iced tea).

The room was in great neglect. The bathtub/shower had hair in it, the ceiling above had mold, the shower curtain was in danger of falling off the wall and the room it self felt dirty and unkept.
