We loved our stay! We wanted an authentic Italian experience, not just a hotel room, and this delivered. There were just a couple of things that needed improvement, or we experienced during our stay that could be tweaked for future guests. Firstly, the 'free parking' shouldn't even be listed. It gave us the illusion that although there wasn't parking on site, there was available free parking nearby. This wasn't the case, as we had to park 10 minutes away on the street, as the car park recommended was full. Not a big thing, just something to be aware of. The breakfast food was lovely; it was a great opportunity to try local delicacies. But we would have preferred an option after a couple of days of tasting the food, to have a tick list of we'd like going forward. As half the items served to us barely got touched, and the tomato dishes were beautiful, but only came out half the time. When we did see the hosts, they were nice enough. No one really introduced themselves the day after we arrived, and in the end, I had to message Francesca regarding the air conditioning dripping in my room (which happened twice on our 5-day stay), and that was the only time I had any contact. Slightly bemused by the previous reviews about the hosts, as I felt the interaction (especially when we checked out) was quite awkward. But all in all, it's the perfect location within the historic centre of Lecce for dining, drinks, and shopping. A couple of tweaks would make this a 10/10 place to stay.

Very helpful staff, traditional building in the old city centre. Very close to the various historic buildings, cultural and social venues and activities. Our room was unusual with a roof top terrace providing great views of the Duomo and other parts of the city. A very enjoyable stay.

Great stay, but be aware of the "free parking" We stayed at this B&B, which is very well located in the historic center — perfect for exploring on foot. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet, and breakfast was delicious with fresh local products. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The only downside is the "free parking" claim. You can’t actually drive into the historic center unless you're a resident, so there’s a risk of fines. Free parking is available, but it’s street parking about 4 blocks away — not on-site as the listing might suggest. Other than that, it was a great experience and we’d definitely stay again.

A unique experience be in a high ceilinged room in a palazzo in Lecce with exceptional hosts. Francesca, who lectures at the University, is gracious and welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast in a book-lined room was personal and individually served. A most memorable and enjoyable stay.

This place was amazing. Our very own apartment in a palace. Our hostess, Francesca was very accommodating. The location is perfect for sightseeing in the old town. Only a five minute walk to the Duomo and all the shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend this place.

Wonderful residence and great host. We stayed in suite number 5 that has a 2 bedrooms, a main living room and a wonderful terrace. The breakfast is served in the living room. Make sure you close the door of the bedroom as staff will come in early to prepare breakfast! Terrific location

Feeling like a queen and king

It was a most amazing experience. A real palace, with the real owner of it, elegant, with a lot of history, huge, in the middle of the Old City. Breakfast was served in the apartment itself, all delicious and fresh. Francesca and Jose were extraordinary! In particular, on the last day, he drove us and the luggage out of the old city to be able to reach our car.

Stupendous stay!

Staying in Palazzo Sambiasi was a wonderful experience. We had 2 large, beautifully furnished and comfortable rooms, plus a huge functional terrace. Francesca and her husband were lovely, gracious and helpful hosts. Breakfast was sumptuous, with different regional specialties every morning. I highly recommend Palazzo Sambiasi!

The property is amazing, true experience of living in a Palazzo. The apartment is huge, lovely large terrace to enjoy the outdoors. A wonderful breakfast, those chocolate coated figs were amazing. Leece is right outside the door, wonderful place to vist.

Lovely Family Palazzo in center of Lecce.

If you have family who were kind enough to invite you to stay with them in their palazzo, that’s what staying in the palazzo Sambiasso is like. We stayed in a very large apt. in the heart of the old city of Lecce. Easy walking distance to historic sites, shops and restaurants. It’s furnished with beautiful family heirlooms. Francesca and Jose are the kindest of people and very gracious hosts. Breakfast was just beautiful. If you want a modern hotel, this is not it. This is a very unique, old world experience with great charm.
