Stay was good however disappointed in the check-in. We travelled from Scotland with a 6 month old baby and did not arrive till 7pm (check-in began at 3pm) when we arrived our room was not ready and we had to wait for it to be cleaned (we had been offered a smaller room with a discount if we came back however we had booked this room specifically to accommodate our baby). Stay was fine other than that but would expect room to be ready 4 hours after check-in starts.

Freezing cold and tired rooms
We booked for the 30th December, we checked in late around midnight with our 5 year old and the hotel was empty. When we got in the room on the first floor, the room was relatively small compared to similar rooms I’ve stayed in with the leonardo group, and with this hotel, the room was old and tired. Tired carpets, the double bed felt small. The room was absolutely freezing and the aircon continued to blow cold air. As our daughter had fallen asleep from our long day of traveling we layered her up and went to sleep. The small bed moved and we noticed no one had vacuumed behind the bed, there were old sweets and rubbish. The receptionist didn’t inform us or give us the option to upgrade our room either. I should have booked the premier inn. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world usually 4 and 5 stars but this hotel experience was definitely not a 4star as advertised.

Lovely spacious room. But the shower was broken, kept leaking from the wall so the floor was constantly wet.. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice.

Staff at bar not familiar with products and if they had received any hospitality training, it wasn't demonstrated very well. Shower was luke warm and the shower curtain was only millimeters longer than the edge of the bath meaning the floor got wet and slippery. Tv was from the ark, appeared to have only a single lift working, so had to wait quite a while each time to use.

Couldn’t initially find my booking when checking in. Room (113) was really poor..overlooking recycling bins and a brick wall, and felt dingy. Items missing at breakfast (no toast) and quality of sausage poor. On a positive the bed was comfy and the hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station.

The hotel rooms are quite run down, for the rate charged £150+ per night. I wasn’t warm enough, didn’t know how to use the heating in the room, and there were no instructions. In fairness, I didn’t contact reception, just got on with it. The staff were all pleasant, polite and helpful in reception and in the dining room. The breakfast was very good. Plenty of selection and nicely presented. It was okay for staff and food, but I’d look for a more reasonable financial option in the future.

Worst weekend to date
where do i start, ok the lobby, down to 1 lift working out of 3, got to our room, all looked ok clean, no problem, got downstairs, had a drink in the bar no problems had food there on the first night, no problem, we went to our event no problem, got back to our room and into bed, woke up 4 maybe 5 times during the night as my back was killing me, went for our breakfast in the morning no problem, went to Elland road to watch the match, and got back to our hotel after the game, it was very ruff outside due to the storm, so we decided to stay in the hotel for food and drinks, mistake, ordered Fish Chips and Peas, food arrived, not very well presented looked thrown on, but i got no problem with that, i started eating my food to find that the peas were stone cold felt like they had been taken out of the fridge and dumped on my plate, the chips and fish were warm, i told the girl that served us that the peas were stone cold, she said that she would get me some fresh peas, if they came in few seconds i probably wouldn't complain, however id eaten the rest of my meal by the time they arrived, so pintless me having them, stayed for a few drinks and went to bed, early as we had decided to leave early in the morning for a 2 and a half hour drive home, when we got to our room i could feel wind coming into our room trough a what i can only think through the window, but yet again woke up 4 - 5 times my back killing me the wife said that she was the same, Not been the best stay i must say,
