We have stayed here previously but this time was so disappointing. We paid for the club room which could not have been further from the reception area. We asked to change rooms and we were moved to a double room which was more accessible to the reception area. The room was fine but had no fridge which was a problem for my wife as she had to store medication. However the main problem was on the Thursday night was a gypsy wedding and it was a nightmare, we had been out and got back about 130am and it was chaos so many police and cars and vans and the whole place was like a war zone. I know it was not specifically the hotels fault but they should have realised the potential for trouble and it was no surprise it went badly wrong. They did partially refund our monies for the two days we stayed but it was not a good experience.

Worst hotel in uk
Stayed for the leeds festival (mum and daughter) on arrival a huge traveller wedding, very intimidating for my 15 year old daughter, when having an evening meal the security had to escort her to the toilet. On the first night, burger was cold and had to go back, swimming pool was hogged by muscle men that stayed in the jacussi for over an hour so no woman could get in. A fight broke out outside our hotel room from the traveller wedding until continued til 2am. Very scary for my daughter

Gym needs some attention
I generally choose hotels with gyms, and have stayed in several village hotels before. Here, a few bits of kit were out, but only needed a staff member with a spanner to fix, not an engineer. I may not have noticed had they not been items i wanted to use. Also, major damage to the fw floor which looks like its been there a long time judging by the condition of the hazard tape.

Perfectly fine, clean with a Starbucks on the ground floor. Loses stars for lack of aircon (although a fan was provided) in what professes to be a high tech, modern hotel. It wasn't the most comfortable August night's sleep, however it wouldn't be a problem outside of the summer. Would be happy to stay again.

Hotel room was too hot. Even with 3 fans it was over 30 degrees in the room. We don’t get any sleep and the reception staff couldn’t really help. There were other people complaining about the temperature of the room. This is the second time we stayed her and had the same issue. We were prepared to give it another go due its location however until air conditioning is installed we will not stay again at this hotel

Don't waste your money at this site.
My son is going through chemo we went Leeds for day visit but as he had just had blood transfusion he said he wanted to spend night in Leeds in hotel with a pool we were going to stay gold resort but that was a 30 minute drive away so I rang village to ask about room options and more importantly if we got there around 5/6pm would pool be open to my son and daughter. They assured me open until 10pm and so booked it. Went there 620pm told pool shuts 7pm even then thought ok rush get them in came back downstairs went to pool and staff said actually no kids allowed after 5pm. My kids were distraught. We love in Newcastle we could have drove home in one hour 20 minutes but stayed for the pool. To make matters worse I am disabled and they give me the furthest room away and then the sink was blocked which later got unblocked and no a.c and my kids slept in their underwear with three fans there was two in room but I had to order a third and even then room was so hot. Absolutely ridiculous. Wouldn't stay here again. I did email into village and got a response a week later saying they are going to refund me but still payment not went in.

The rooms were 40 degrees plus and no air conditioning. The fans provided did nothing as they were inadequate and the windows were so restricted that they had no effect on getting cooler air into the room
