Mushroom Bay is great, quiet enough but still variation in dining options around the beach and walks up the roads from the bay. Very handy that Tanis' fast boat pulls up straight out the front. Included breakfast menu had something for all four of us, basic but nice. Tanis is NOT 5 star, probably built 40-50 years ago and only basic maintenance carried out since, however, most aircons look fairly new. Our kids loved the slide and pools, plus the option to swim in the ocean (they found a tree to climb and jump into the ocean from, out on the point). We had adjoining rooms (Tropical Garden Bungalows, 2A 2B, separate from the 3 story building), the beds were good (a little soft for me, perfect for my wife), improvements would be: blackout curtains (garden lights left on all night), a clothes dryer or drying room (no towel racks and nothing dries in the tropics, unless in the aircon), comfortable seats or couches in the rooms (lots of biteys at night) and the road fixed to the back of the hotel (rough limestone track; wouldn't be bad on a trail bike but the scooter kept bottoming out). All in all a nice week on Lembongan via Tanis Resort; surf, snorkelling, food, nice people and helpful staff.

We give the rating of this hotel beloe 0. The only positive was friendly staff. We had booked for 6 nights and checked out after 1 night early in morning (which was one night too many). I know it was a buget hotel but the images definitely did not match its actual condition. I have never stayed in a worse hotel.

We had a great stay at the Tanis with our 2 teens. We each had a bungalow. Bungalows 8&9 were renovated but bungalow 5 although not renovated was great as well

Room was clean and had everything we needed but the mirror in our room was very warn and old so we couldn’t see ourselves in it very clearly if that makes sense, our wifi also did not work when we were in the room which was a bit irritating but we were only there for 2 nights so it wasn’t a big deal. Beach and pool was very nice and staff was super friendly, the beach club beside the hotel was also affordable and relaxing to be at.

Definitely try and get a room up the back near the back pool. The rooms were very spacious with a king size bed. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating.

Terrible Hotel

This hotel was terrible. It has become a business for day tour groups and the facilities are used for that purpose. The hotel is poorly maintained and rubbish is left from hoardes of visitors. The room was old and unclean. It was also undergoing some construction. We stayed one night and left. We had paid for three nights.

Poor breakfast and loud wake up

Make sure you don't get the room close to the staff concierge as they will likely wake you up before 6am with loudy noises and shouting. Towels are dirty, the hotel is very kind to provide you with new ones, dirty as well though. Breakfast is really poor and sugar bomb.

The bed was okay and the beach was pretty with some nice hotels nearby. The bathroom was gross, it smelled and was leaking in tons of places. Didn't like it here at all

Dump on a beautiful beach

The gardens are beautiful. But that's the only good thing about the place. There are no ocean view rooms as stated, it's rather hard to find, I had to ask multiple people where it was, it's back from the beach between two much livelier places. The rooms were very dirty. The A/C didn't work and the fan had about an inch of dust on it. The bathroom was gross with lots of spiders and holes in the walls to outside. Most of the staff ignored the guests. The day I checked out housekeeping was sitting outside my door waiting for me to leave, which was creepy since I had 3 more hours before I had to leave. The wifi doesn't work in the rooms if you need it. Don't order eggs for breakfast unless you'd like eggshells as well. The seating on the beach also fills up quickly with the day trip tours. The place could be gorgeous if it were a little better maintained.

Traditional villas on the beach in Mushroom Bay.

Location is excellent and practically on the beach. Staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough to help. We had an accident on the island which required medical attention. We did not have enough money on us to pay the doctor so the hotel staff lent us the money to pay and took us back to the doctors to sort the bill and translate. Extremely grateful to the staff. The hotel is set in lush gardens which are well kept. The pool is clean and beautifully set with plenty of sun loungers and beach towels. Breakfast is made to order.

An OK hotel by the beach

The hotel is located by the beach. The staff was helpful. Massage and water entertainment like a 'banana boat' are available for booking. Bedroom was clean, bathroom showed some signs of aging, for example bathtub had a very big crack, it didn't look too inviting. Everyday hotel organized one day events for large groups of tourists from other island which made the entrance a little crowded. If one looks for peace that might be troubling. In general the experience was OK, not extraordinary but also not too bad.

A wonderful welcoming hotel with excellent staff that made you feel like part of the family. Rooms were very nice with the bathroom partly outdoors, something a little different. Pools were very clean and food and drinks were very nice and cheap. Would definitely stay there again :)

3 room changes,

Food was good, and pricing good. I had booked an ocean view room, but did not get one, told they were full. Very disappointing. Then the next room had mice under the pillow, so by the third room we stayed but it did not have a fridge. So frustrated about moving rooms 3 times. Food and service was good! Plus it was on the beach which I love. Would I stay there again probably not, but I would go back to eat there. I would not go back to Bar and Cafe Bali to eat, which was just along the beach. Over priced and very poor service. Took over an hour for our meal to come!and it was a small serving, and they wanted me to give them 1000 Rp change, must be kidding after such poor service.
