Misleading

The Yankee hotel was adequate but did not meet the expectations created by the hotels description on hotels.com website. There is a bar and lounge, but they’re not open except for Friday and Saturday, the hotel no longer has a restaurant and is not nestled in a forest like environment. It’s just off a major road and is not close to places to dine. We will not stay in the yankee chain of hotels in the future.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable, the location was great for our plans, staff were lovely and helpful, and the outdoor pool was clean and quiet (in the mornings since it seemed the families with young kids were mostly in the indoor pool). Only complaint is the walls are pretty thin so we heard our neighbors most of the time. This is a small price to pay for an otherwise great stay though and it wouldn’t stop me from returning.

The breakfast was excellent. Great selection of food, and the staff were friendly and maintained the area nicely. The location is excellent within a few miles to local towns and Tanglewood. Our room was dated; the shampoo dispenser was broken and there was no soap in the sink area. The room had a musty smell and the tub was discolored from use. The air filter was dirty and we washed it. The manager responded in a positive manner but we expect more for the $400+ night.

We were delighted with the quality of the room and the quality of the breakfast offered. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Will definitely recommend The Yankee Inn to friends and will plan to stay there again when we visit Tanglewood.

We had a two double bed room that was tiny. It was on the ground floor and the two windows were easily looked into. Windows had to be completely covered, so no air coming in. A prefab shower stall in which the glass door did not close so every shower resulted in a wet floor. An old air-conditioner that no longer worked was covered with a couple of doors, instead of being removed. The place to have breakfast required a long walk from our room, in another building. I hated my stay here. I would have done better at Motel 6.
