Amazing hotel and staff
Sometimes it’s the little touches in a hotel that make you feel truly special, and during my brief two-night stay at the Altis Avenida, I was incredibly impressed. I arrived late on Tuesday evening after a long layover, traveling to Lisbon for business. From the moment my taxi pulled up, the experience was fantastic. The doorman greeted me by name as he opened the door—such a warm, personal touch! Inside, check-in was smooth and efficient, and I must say, Rui is an absolute credit to the hotel. Friendly and helpful, he even accompanied me to my room, providing all the information I needed. It was, without a doubt, one of the best welcomes I’ve ever had to a hotel.. The room itself was modern and well-appointed. It included a mini bar fridge, complimentary coffee, tea, water, and a lovely bottle of wine that I thoroughly enjoyed. The bed was comfortable, and the free WiFi was fast, allowing me to cast to the TV, which was a nice feature. The TV could perhaps be a bit larger and more up-to-date, but that’s a minor detail. The bathroom was stocked with everything I needed, and the shower was outstanding—great water pressure! I had breakfast at the hotel on Wednesday morning, and the experience was equally delightful. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant with wonderful views. After breakfast, I enjoyed a coffee outside, taking in the beauty of Lisbon—a perfect start to my day. Amazing hotel

Hotel is convenient to most of the tourist spots and within walking distance of the popular trams, rooms were a bit on the small side but the daily espumante and pasteis de nata was a nice touch.

We loved the location. The main attractions are either within walking distance or easily reached by public transport. 24 hour unlimited tickets are available very close to the hotel's main entrance at the main line or Metro stations. We never felt the need to use taxis. Breakfast in the rooftop restaurant was varied and good but could get a little repetitive if staying for more than a few days [we stayed for 7]. Inside and outside tables are available. Check out the seagull that patrols the perimeter handrail each morning hoping to be fed. All of the staff are really friendly. Unlimited bottled water is available free of charge, just ask. The satellite TV has a number of English speaking channels, great for films etc. Our bathroom had the best and strongest shower that we have encountered in Europe to date. We can't comment on the hotel's other amenities as we were in Lisbon primarily to see the sights so were out and about for most of the day/evening. Very few minor negatives: We thought our superior double room was a little on the small size, likewise the bathroom. The "double bed" wasn't, it was 2 singles bolted together. I've not sampled the delights of a single bed since my unmarried teenage years. Housekeeping staff could have been a little more generous with the number of milk and coffee pods left in the room each day. Overall, we were pleased with our choice of hotel in Lisbon and would stay at the Altis Avenida again.

The hotel is well situated and so many sights are within walking distance. Two metro stops (different lines) are within a block for the farther sights. Check in was well done. Room amenities are what are expected and it was well laid out. Staff were very good and they were able to accommodate a later checkout.

It is very centrally located, across from beautiful train station that takes you to Sintra. Love the Roof top bar, drinks and food was very good and has the best view of the square and city. The Staff was very accommodative, we could leave our luggage behind before checking in few days later so we could travel to Porto. I would highly recommend staying at Altis Avenida Hotel. Give it a 5 star rating.

Expensive - but perfect location for wandering downtown Lisbon & travelling further for day trips eg Sintra. Classy hotel. Very clean & comfortable. Unpretentious. Lovely decor. WiFi was fantastic. Only negative: knock on door days 2, 3;4 in 3 night stay, for me was very annoying. 3rd night to check all was well & offer chocolate - that could/should have been left on bed as 2nd night (much appreciated). When assistance was required (TV) electrician arrived immediately and issue was resolved perfectly. Would definitely return.
