Family getaway.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We stayed as a family of 4 two children 10 and 12, we had the family suite booked. We areived on the morning and they were able to store our bags and place them in our room once it was ready. It was nice having the separate sleeping areas in the family suite. The location was absolutely perfect. Walking distance to everything. We enjoyed exploring the Alfama neighborhood and all of the sites in Lisbon. It was also close to the train station as we did a day trip up to Sintra. The daily breakfast was also a very nice selection. Very clean hotel and friendly staff.

Hotel Convento do Salvador was excellent. Particularly the front desk staff in demeanour and presentation. Complimentary coffee and water in reception area, soaps and hand cream amenities were good quality, the variety of breakfast menu items was excellent. The rooms were clean. That they opened on to a central courtyard was lovely.

Pros: Location is excellent for any activity or sight seeing Alfama. Everything is within walking distance. Tram stop is 1 minute away. The staff is most friendly, accommodating and helpful. Great price for its central location and quality of rooms and service Cons: Breakfast room is way too small to handle many guests at onetime No way to accommodate guests who drive - no access and parking

I was moving to Lisbon and last minute chose to book a hotel for the day I was arriving just in case things went wrong, and I am so glad that I did. The hotel staff were very helpful and flexible as I figured out my housing situation, and even allowed me to store my bags there for a couple of days.

Pros:Hotel is situated at a prime location with many eatery options available Cons: the primary disadvantage is the steep slope which we were aware when booking but the rains didn't help and the hotels didn't have additional recreational activities to support.

Wonderful stay in an amazing, historic area of Lisbon. Staff was also wonderful. One thing to be aware of though, is that the hotel is located in a street with limited access. So if you drive or take taxi/uber, you will have to walk a very steep cobblestone street. If you have lots of luggage, make arrangements with the hotel. They are very accommodating.

We stayed four nights at Hotel Convento do Salvadore and used it as our homebase for exploring the Alfama area, and going to see Sintra and the rest of Lisboa. It was absolutely perfect, the rooms are small, but tidy and well thought out. They have doors that open to a fresh air patio and have a lovely breakfast. That is an additional €6 per day but well worth it. All of the staff were excellent, helpful, kind, caring, and spoke perfect English as well, which was a nice help for us since we only know a little bit of Portuguese. Highly recommend- would stay again.

The location is close to the S. Jorge castle, Lisbon Cathedral, and the lookout. The property itself was good with an elevator, large common area. Breakfast buffett choices were limited but delicious. The neighborhood was better on top of the hill but lower down, there were lots of overflowing garbage bins. There was unpleasant smell just outside the hotel. The area is full of hill and stairs so definitely a bad choice for people with mobility issues. Very narrow streets that close on weekends or limit access certain times so it was tricky getting to the hotel on a Saturday. Wish the hotel warned me about it when I asked about parking. The nearby garage was full so parked at Campo Das Cebolas. €25 per day. They don't take credit card.
