Older building. Has a few issues. Needs some work. The rooms were large. The hallways were large but also had an echo. Others were not so kind about slamming doors late or early. Understand they want to build a new hotel next door and then redevelop the existing building.

Great hospitality, helpful and friendly staff. Thank you for allowing us to store our luggage at the hotel while we went to Lagos for a couple of days. Wonderful cook to order complimentary breakfast Includes fresh baked breads, eggs, bacon, smoke salmon, fruits and more. Good start to our day.

To start, the hotel did not have the room we reserved. We asked them to upgrade us or give us a refund and we’d find somewhere else to stay. At first, the receptionist said yes and showed us the upgraded room. We agreed to take the upgrade and forget about it, even tho it still was not a room with two beds which we required. After agreeing, he said, “actually if you want that room that will be an extra 160 euros per night” which is more than we were paying for the room we booked! We got frustrated with this and said we’d be back after we got something to eat. My 70 year old mother then wanted to go back in and hear other people checking in to see if they were getting the room we booked, and he wouldn’t let her in the building!! He saw her jiggling the doorknob and refused to unlock it, one of the other guests ended up sheepishly coming to the door and opening it for her (he had an unlock button at the desk). We called Expedia and tried to get refunded and they could not get us a refund after speaking to this horrible man at the front desk, who contacted his manager. We show up at around 9pm and he still did not want to unlock the door for us to enter the lobby. Once entered, he had a look like “why are you here?” We said you denied our refund and we want our key. Once getting inside the room, it was clear this is not a 4 star hotel. The walls and doors were banged up, the caulking had mould growing in it. Avoid. Hotel Maxime a block away had the nicest front desk helping us!

Fun time exploring Lisbon for two nights!
Love the staff! Good location to explore the old city from afoot. The location is on a hill with windy roads though so a bit fun to find even with GPS.

Little gem
We loved this little gem. The room was spacious; plenty of storage, plug sockets in convenient locations, comfortable sitting area and the included breakfast was delicious, served in a friendly way (remembered our breakfast drinks orders after day 1). It was immaculately clean. The tourist guidance offered by the front desk was helpful. I would stay here again, without thinking twice.

Wouldn’t stay here again.
The breakfast started so late in the morning that we could not even eat at the hotel. Even just getting coffee early was an ordeal. The bed was possibly the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on and the pillows were just as bad. I would definitely not stay here again.

Very friendly, amenable staff. Nice breakfast area with table service. A few more vegetarian options would've been appreciated but admittedly I didn't make a special request for any. You could make tea in your room with a jug of hot water from reception but a kettle in the room would've been more convenient. These are small gripes but overall I would recommend this hotel and stay again.
