It’s new and painfully modern, by which I mean you can do things like control everything in the room from your (very firm) bed, but then you have to suffer the fact that at any moment a bright blue panel may blind you while you’re trying to sleep or the electric curtain may get stuck and you have to wait for the tech to catch up. You can also use the iPad to request late checkout, but don’t expect anyone to get back to you (I emailed at around 7pm and heard nothing). The spa facilities are lovely, particularly if you have them to yourself although bearing in mind the room capacity of this hotel that might not happen often. Room service was prompt and the food was delicious. I hated the artwork everywhere which I thought was the height of gauche, but that’s a matter of taste and I’m sure there’s a story there that I’ve just missed. I found all of these things tolerable and borderline enjoyable but what really put me off ever coming back here were the staff. A lacklustre check in, I said hello to someone that came in to check the temperature of the pool who looked at me and ignored me, then at check out we weren’t even asked ‘how was your stay?’ The guy that delivered the room service was lovely and when we returned to fetch our bags the maintenance man asked ‘how was your stay’ by way of making polite conversation on the escalator, but by that time we’d already lost interest in the Art’otel, mirroring the total lack of interest reception staff had shown in us.

Amazing hotel. Only note is that I did message and call property to have baby cot set up in room because we were checking in late. The baby cot was not set up - although stuff were efficient in getting one in place quickly.

They say you get what you pay for and I truly danced to the tune of the sayings. The staff were very welcoming and professional and the facilities were topped notch although we spent less time in the facility. If there is any one thing I can change then I will recommend renovation of the bathroom floor. The floor does not befits a modern day hotel.
