Disliked: Staff & service
Staff at the front desk were very inexperienced. The customer service was very poor and minimal.
During my stay, I had an emergency and had to check out a few days ahead of schedule. Front desk staff refused to give me any type of paper print out, indicating that I was checking out. I called back the next day when I had made it back home and spoke with the manager and even though they were free to check the rooms (the manager did not believe that I had checked out) and see that I had checked out and my family and I and our belongings were no longer there, they continued to refuse to send me any type of documentation that I had checked out early. They seemed very bothered by my phone call and not concerned at all that I had to cut my trip short due to an emergency at home.
I would not recommend this hotel if you would like good customer service from the front desk or from the management.
I would say that the maintenance staff was very courteous and helpful. I had an issue with a flickering light in my room and maintenance came right away and assisted/fixed the issue.
I can't believe how friendly, helpful, and accommodating the staff was. Absolutely exceptional service! I wanted to stay an extra night and the hotel staff helped me reserve another room AND they helped me get a discount on the new reservation! The hotel was very clean. I thought the breakfast buffet was excellent. The room was quite comfortable.
Be wary of staying here if you’re a woman traveling alone.
I woke up at 1am to a man in my room saying the TV was too loud. Having just woken up, I was very scared and asking what was happening. He stood in my room in complete darkness, never identified himself as staff and was rude and argumentative with me when I was simply just scared. He left immediately after I turn off the TV with no further explanation or apology.
I went downstairs to speak with the manager, apologized for falling asleep with the TV on but explaining how harmful this situation can be to a woman alone at night, it’s more than obvious where my head was at when I woke up to a man in my room.
The manager rwas dismissive and continued to explain how it was all my fault. He was extremely insincere about it and continued to speak over me. At this point I was shaking and on the verge of tears so I told him I’d be leaving, he did not move aside. Eventually I walked away however he followed me to the elevator.
All I wanted was a sincere conversation, explanation and apology; instead I paid for a stay that I couldn’t even sleep at afterwards.
When I went back down the lady at reception profusely apologized for the entire situation. She was absolutely lovely but it’s unfortunate that it seems to only be women who understand how traumatic this is.
I will be escalating the matter.
Our room was the very definition of Efficient. Everything we needed, nothing we didn't. Clean, stylish, functional. Loved the fact we could open a window for a breeze, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Enthusiastic recommendation!
Hotel and room well situated, newly refurbished, clean and secure. Bed, shower, lighting and power outlets all modern and well laid out. Room faced the courtyard bar, so a little noisy at night but peaceful (for London) in the morning.
I used their shackle app for check in and room key - I found this was difficult to check in and out successfully but the key feature worked well. The check in desk (specifically for sleeper guests) was quiet, so it would not have been a problem to avoid the app.
Great place to stay. Good place to catch the bus around the city. A park near by and train station in walking distance. Restaurants nearby and great customer service.
The room was lovely, the bed was so comfortable, bathroom is very small but it's fine. Loved the light up mirror! Hotel was very quiet, service was great everyone was friendly. My only issue is it was really really hot and the pillows were too big so I had a neck ache using one and two so one the original size and one a bit smaller would have been great. Great location also
