Renovation needed

Very old style hotel, rooms are dated. When pulling back the bedding for the first night there was a long black hair amongst the sheets. Shower head holder had snapped. This place definitely needs a renovation, didn’t find the staff to be overly friendly either.

Old, tired, price reflects the condition.

The hotel was a reasonable price but the hotels reflected the price. I stayed here around 20 years ago and to be honest, it looked the same inside the rooms. Peeling furniture, poor condition, too warm without the ability to cool the room down. Overall a very old, tired venue which needs investment. Check in was appalling. 4 staff on for about 10 people Chen j f in but took us around 15 mins to be checked in - even though I had booked in online the day before. The reception area was extremely hot.

So near to tube station. Everything is within walking distance. Staff are friendly and helpful. My room was clean and bright but a little tired. Id booked a club room but what is mentioned in the description was not on offer. No fruit in the room and very limited access to tea/coffee in the club lounge.

The hotel looks great in the reception area and after that, everything is very dated. Its clean, but no air con in the rooms just heaters, so if you have a south facing room in the summer, be prepared and ask for a fan, you will need it!

Noisy heating system in room

Hotel was lovely and will go back but heating system in room was noisy all night. Reception said we should have reported but didn’t really grasp that we came in from evening at theatre at 11.30 and went straight to bed. We were not going to ring at 12.30 in the morning for maintenance or move rooms. Didn’t sleep all night so maybe we should have but you always think you will drop off don’t you. I simply don’t believe this was the first time they have been told

The hotel exterior is very very tired. 70s, and dirty, with bizarrely branded restaurants signposted on site. The lobby is quite nice, with seating and plenty of reception desks, however we were ignored on check in, with 2 of the 5 staff with other guests, and the other 3 staff doing nothing, so check in took too long (especially considering I checked in online AND with the tablet onsite). The restaurants seemed nice, but were empty - we did not eat there, so cannot comment further. The room itself was very much of a dated Travelodge quality. Very old decor (with toothpaste on the picture in the bathroom), a very old TV, a hairdryer with a cord so short it was literally unusable, loose sockets, limited lighting, no window control, rubbish HVAC, again, from the 70s. Bed was moderately comfortable. Shower was weak, very old bathroom suite. However, else vexed us must was the price of water from the "shop" in reception. £3.79 for a 330ml bottle is outrageous extortion and profiteering. Would not stay again. The Holiday Inn that is adjacent looked much better.

Needed a hotel near the Albert Hall and this one did the trick perfectly... only stayed the one night and spent very little time in the room which was very warm but generally comfortable...had a great time... no problems at all... recommended...
