The mattress is a cardboard box and when you ask front desk for assistance in a late check in they tell you sorry nothing I can do service staff leave at 6 you’ll have to wait till next day well I couldn’t wait till next day due to the fact that it was a one night pit stop so anyway horrible service horrible beds

Pleasant stay at Doubletree

Clean and friendly staff. Short walk to Angel tube station and nearby shops. Kings Cross is a bit further a walk. Could have done with a couple more pillows and towels and had a dodgy keycard but nothing major. Would certainly stay again as decent hotel, good public transport and convenient shops nearby.

Not what this hotel used to be like

Had to ask for a different room as the one we were allocated did not reflect what had been shown on the website - small and with inadequate furniture for two people to relax. Initally the room was cold and the thermostat seemed faulty. However, we discovered that the heating (and possibly cooling in the summer) can be controlled downstairs in the reception and they kept turning it off (maybe to save them some money.) The second room was better but the heating issue remained. We used to stay at this hotel when it was owned by another company - it was one of the reasons to return. All I can say is that we were massively disappointed. Poor quality sausages, overcooked tomatoes, everything luke warm. Previously there had been a plentiful selection of fresh fruit but now poor quality and hard. The staff were very efficient but seemed to be fielding a lot of problems. Lovely fresh warm cookies on our arrival! Excellent location and good connections.

Could do better !

This is the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in, and as a Hilton honours client thought it should have been better. I’m having a few issues with the rooms I’m being allocated when booking with Hotels.Com lately . If this carries on I will use a different booking sight I’m afraid.

Clean property, helpful and kind staff. Quiet and blackout curtains which aid sleep. Breakfast good with variety provided. Preferred the previous option of a small pot of coffee at breakfast rather than now having just the coffee machine. Coffee was a much higher standard before. Always would be nice to have vegetarian cooked breakfast options. Have been at this location 3 times and would return.

It was excellent, though some minor gripes that i have - the shower are doesnt close so the toilet are gets wet - there are no complimentary slippers and water - the hair dryer needs to be plugged outside the bathroom
