Conveniently situated small hotel - great for Natural History museum, Knightsbridge and Hyde park. Close to South Kensington station. Rooms are small, bathrooms even smaller but clean and modern. Staff were helpful

Gainsborough Hotel
Hotel situated near Natural History Museum, Science Museum and the V&A Museum. Outside, hotel impressive and reception area is really good. Service and attention to detail by the staff excellent. The double room was ok. Large enough for a short stay. The bed was comfortable but the decor was looking a little tired. The bathroom was small and smelled stale. Buffet breakfast is provided in their sister hotel across the street. Good choice of food and drinks.

Hotel was in a fantastic location - lots going on in surrounding area but the road the hotel was in was quiet and so we had a good night's sleep. All staff were lovely - kind - well mannered and keen to help even though we checked it in the early hours of the morning. The sister hotel was a bonus - good breakfasts in the morning and great cocktails early evening. We had a standard double and it had everything we needed - compact but perfect. We will definitely stay here again

Very convenient for the museums and university on Exhibition Road. Lots of good places to eat nearby also. Rooms are a little on the small side, though perfectly nice — but then you're staying in South Kensington, so maybe that's to be expected. Had an enjoyable stay.

Very small, poorly ventilated rooms. Heating via air conditioners with fluorescent blue lights indicating temperature that light the room at night! Very small bathroom, not suitable for more than one person. Not even a rail for the towel. Plumbing has odor. However, staff were pleasant, very convenient for south Kensington Tube and quiet. It was cheap and room reflected price!

The property was in an excellent location…nestled between two tube stations. The customer service was great and the lobby was welcoming.Lots to do in the area with great restaurants. It was the rooms that needed a bit of TLC. It was run done, paint peeling, cracks in the ceiling, water damage.
