Worst nights sleep I’ve had in a hotel
We were “upgraded” to a room at the front of the building that apparently had a view over the park, which we couldn’t see due to the scaffolding and builders outside our window. Nothing like coming eye to eye with a builder when you open your 2nd floor curtains! The plumbing was a macerator that sounded like a jack hammer every time you used the toilet or sink. Then joy of joys we had a neighbour who also had the same plumbing and we were then subjected to jackhammer sounds reverberating through the room for 30mins at a time. We complained to the reception who said they were fully aware of the sound issues and would we be ok with it. No, no we were not! They eventually moved us to a smaller room which smelt of damp and the bed was so creaky every time my husband or I moved in the night it was so loud it woke us up. The worst nights sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel. They agreed that they would move us to a room equal to our first night but without “the plumbing issue” for our second night. This one was ok and everything was fine that time. However as it took them well over an hour to offer any fix on the first night and the fact that the rooms were below subpar I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
