I upgraded my room so that I can check in early (2pm) and thought I was getting a better room but the room is so ordinary and the bathroom is the worst. The access panel on the ceiling is wide open showing the pipes and all. The shower head is not attached properly so it keeps falling no matter how much adjustment I made, it also looks so cheap, something that can be bought in a dollar store. The shower door cannot be fully closed so water seeped out all over. I am very disappointed with the experience at Hilton Paddington and I told the staff at the front desk when I checked out and he just smiled and didn’t even ask for details. Worst room and service!

Great location

This Hilton is attached to Paddington Station so travel to/from Heathrow via Heathrow Express (20 min) couldn’t be easier. Also, lots of shops/food/restaurants in the station and nearby. Transport via tube and bus again is right there so getting to other areas of London is quick and easy. Room was a bit small but very comfortable, clean, quiet. My only disappointment was no fridge/minibar, but that may have been due to the room type I selected.

The Tower

It was an adventure. An electrical fault led to us being moved out of our rooms. We were more than happy to stay having traveled for 36 hours. However, Health & Safety rules meant we had to move because we had no lights. We were moved to the executive rooms in the Tower. Fortunately, not The Tower. We were well looked after. Great breakfast selections too.

Expedia double booked my room, but fortunately the reception staff was able to cancel one night without charge. The hotel is old and a bit smelly. Breakfast is crowded and only one machine for coffee. For the price, it is better stay somewhere else.

The hotel wad nice, clean. The room was large clean and well appointed. The bathroom was a good size and fairly clean except for a bit of mold in the shower. The staff were generally good except one reception person acted like I was disturbing him when I asked to extend my stay by a night then made a mistake when he entered the extra night and didn't register it properly. I was locked out of my room later that day. When I spoke with another reception person there he laughed at me and said in a mocking tone lets hope we didn't throw out your bags. After he entered my info and I got back into the room. I got a call telling me that the 2nd reception person forgot to take my credit card info. The 3rd person who helped me was very pleasant and apologized for the issues. The security person standing inbthe lobby seemed to only want to intimidate guests. When I asked him a question about the bar he grunted instead of answering. It seems the staff isn't always the most friendliest.
