the surprise additional parking fee was not disclosed till very late in the booking process. the hotel was just average and less than oi would expect from a Sandman Hotel. Breakfast less than expected

Homeless shelter

When we pulled up to the hotel we were greeted by alot of homeless people, the 1st 1 we spotted had his pants down,i would not have been comfortable having a child with me. Thank god it had underground parking to put my mind at ease a bit. Then once we check in they tell us that its an extra $16 a car to park on the property, we selected this hotel because it was a bit cheaper but once that is added on all savings are gone and its not worth the anxiety of worrying about our vehicles.

Generally clean and well kept. Did not appreciate the homeless drug addicts just outside the hotel. They were noisy and made me feel unsafe. Also did not appreciate the additional charge for parking on the premises. And my security deposit was not refunded yet.

Our two rooms were very quiet. They were clean. The carpet at first look seemed dirty, but we realized it was worn spots. Upgrades in progress. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Offstreet, gated parking was great esp. for women traveling alone. The homeless population in the area was initially a concern, but we had no issues. We didn't feel unsafe. There was plenty of other pedesterian traffic when we were out, too, even at 11:00 P.M.

Needs more fresh food for breakfast including more whole grain and items made on site rather than made off site. More actual cutlery and ceramic dishes and cups should be available rather than plastic and disposable packaging. Drying racks or rods should be made available for drying towels.
