We stayed for a quick evening visit to London. The hotel was close to our destination, the room was clean, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was substantial.

I don’t usually have the need to send hotels emails however this warrants it. My employees experience at the Sandman Hotel in London, Ontario was so disturbing that I feel obligated to speak up. From the moment he arrived, the surroundings were unsettling—there were individuals clearly under the influence loitering around the property, making it feel unsafe and unwelcoming. Inside, things went from bad to worse. His room was infested with cockroaches. He spotted them crawling on the dresser around his food, I could only imagine how many were in and around the area. It is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. The room felt dirty and poorly maintained, and I couldn’t sleep comfortably knowing the hygiene was so compromised.

The place is very shabby, watched two people pass out, needing a arcan dose. Toilet very low, and not flushing well. Along with the 5 am wake-up call to us that was not requested. Stayed there as its Canadian owned. Opps!

The room desperately needed a new carpet and the bathroom fan was loud but the bed was new and firm and the windows kept the road noise out. What was really good were the variety of items on the breakfast menu, the gated parking for security and exceptional staff. I left my purse behind in my room accidentally and it was returned with everything in tact. The staff were very polite and kind.

The room was exactly what we needed; a nice comfy bed, clean amenities (that could be updated, but that's for another day), and a decent variety of breakfast options available. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Despite the spicy locals and the need to have a buddy when walking outside after dinner, I really appreciated having a good spot for a decent price. Thank you!

The worst part, which is not really the hotel's fault, there's a lot of homeless people along the street. It's not just a few people. It's a few dozen at least. Hotel itself is average. Staff do their job, but fail to go above and beyond. I would say it's a low end to average hotel, that can do better in quite a few ways.
