My room was clean and well-appointed. The hotel was noisey on a Monday night. The area around it is unfortunately rough and I didn't feel safe coming and going alone.

Not so safe-feeling
Rooms are abit too dark; no entrance hallway light in room. Have blackout curtains, but no way to close them! Often many homeless and drug-involved people around the entrance and in parking garage, making arrival and departure feel unsafe. Staff friendly. Free breakfast good (though coffee could be much improved!)

The sign is difficult to see. With navigation we travelled in the area for 30 minutes at night before noticing a small unlit sign. The location may be insecure as there are many homeless and vagrant people in the immediate vicinity and using the un gated parking for shelter and urination. Walking at night may be unsafe. The breakfast was good. The room was excellent. softer pillows would be good. The Wi-Fi was not always functional.

I was terrified to even step out of the building with the unsavoury people surrounding the building asking for money or shouting profanities. The staff was polite but other than that I will stay far away from a sandman property. The security in hotel was poor and anyone could have walked in.

We felt that the brand Sandman should not be on this hotel. Carpets are filthy, ripped wallpaper, active drug users in front of hotel, no safe place to park a vehicle. I would not risk parking a vehicle in the very limited, unprotected underground parking. I would never want to enter or exit the hotel alone. We felt completely mislead having stayed in Sandman before. We ended up leaving to find better accommodation. Not comfortable staying there at all.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sandman London. The hotel and rooms were very nice. We had an executive suite (also called a junior suite) on the 9th floor and a double queen on the 7th floor. The suite was very large with a kitchenette, sitting area and separate bedroom with doors. Nice bathroom with good shampoo/conditioner. Everything very clean. Nice pub across the street, Morissey House. Standard hotel breakfast, looked fine. Don't listen to the complainers who have a problem with unhoused people in the area. Yes, they are there, no, they didn't cause any problems. They are just trying to live. Use common sense like you would anywhere. No need for this to reflect badly on the hotel in any way. We never felt unsafe here.

The staff was helpful. My room was clean and ready when I arrived. Breakfast is mostly cold items and toast ie grab and go items and by the end of the week only apples were the only fruit left....:( Even with that, I would stay there again.
