I have had many meals at this hotel when my dad lived nearby but I have never stayed here. It was lovely. The room was large, comfy and beautifully decorated. But, unfortunately, far too cold to sit out on the balcony. The staff were helpful and the breakfast large. I will be back again, there is so much to do locally.

Great stay but room for some improvements
Great hotel location and rooms. Enjoyed our stay but there is plenty of room for improvement. Such as service in Restuarant is poor. And rooms are very cold, and there was quite draft coming from windows. Otherwise pleasant enough

The location is superb and the entrance to the hotel is very beautiful. I am not sure why but I didn't love my stay and probably wouldnt stay again. I found the staff were aloof, possibly snobbish and not very friendly. The breakfast was lovely.

Had a great stay of 4 nights at The Petersham. Beautiful property, excellent and spacious rooms, and great location in the centre of Richmond by the river. 10 minutes walk to centre of town.

Nice hotel but lacking in areas
Considering the relatively high cost, the hotel was lacking in service and value. With breakfast at £29, this only covered the hot breakfast. Cereal, fruit, yoghurt, etc, was extra. At dinner, the menu choice was very limited with around 6 or 7 mains of which 2 were burgers. The hotel also needs more eco awareness, small plastic bottles of shampoo and shower gel are wasteful and should by now be replaced with refilled containers. Otherwise the hotel was clean and staff were generally friendly

Lovely hotel in a great location and very clean and well equipped room. Only issue was parking was a little tricky as it was busy when we arrived and the showers were not great (we had two rooms and there were problems with both - luke warm water and not enough water pressure).
