Door Lock Broken

Our door did not lock. We notified reception of this and they told us that they would keep an eye on the room. We said that wouldn't be sufficient. So they hard locked the door using a physical key. When we asked for a second physical key for the other guest they said they didn't have one. So we asked to be moved to another room. They told us that the free rooms could not be given to us as they were allocated to other guests. We insisted, reminding them that we too are guests. They eventually found a room and moved us, but after a lot of hassle. Meanwhile my two friends were told they would have to pay 15 pounds just to check in early, and were told they would have to pay per bag if they wanted to leave them at reception while waiting for check in. They ended up storing their bags in our room with the broken door while they awaited check in. Other than that, everything was as you'd expect. Basic but decent. Rooms clean. No cooked breakfast.

Hotel next to student Accomodation, kept up with noise until 2.30am but offered refund or free night in one of their hotels in London in future. Breakfast good with nice GF selection too. 10 mins from Liverpool Streer and plenty of shops and restaurants.

Its ok, very small

Rooms are clean, but very small. Bed not comfortable. Breakfast was mediocre at best (mostly bread), coffee absolutely horrible.... but a very friendly staff, good safe central east end location, and well priced. Mostly very quiet except recess times during day at nearby school. Was fine for a single person but no way 2 people could stay in that pod of a room. Get a coffee down the street

The service here is impeccable , polite and efficient and friendly - loved that the reception desk and area is 'manned' 24 hours a day. We will be back - very handy for the Barbican

Simple and convenient option

Useful simple hotel close to my office. The bathroom is a bit of a jig (the shower door opens onto the basin so its just as well I'm pretty small!), and the bed is so tight to the wall you have to climb over it to open/close the curtains. It was warm and quiet though, and the bed just right for one person and a good night's sleep.

Very nice staff. Front desk receptionist was very accommodating and responded quickly to our concerns. Very nice place, close to public transportation. The area surrounding the hotel is a little dirty and quite a bit noisy at night but the hotel is very nice. Will stay there again but in a different room.

Give Raj a promotion and raise

Room was tiny but well appointed. The window pane is opaque and can be opened only a sliver. Bathroom good except the floor was freezing, I arrived late at night after a long day of traveling on the day of the Heathrow shutdown. The heating in my room was not working. Raj, the manager on duty, did his best to investigate the problem and then supplied me with a portable heater, which worked well. He said if I needed to switch rooms the next day, it would be arranged. I ended up having a comfortable sleep and remained in the room for the following night as booked. Give Raj a promotion and raise. The breakfast is very good.
